Discussion & Quiz on Union Budget 2025

Meerut: A discussion and quiz based on “Sabka Vikas-Union Budget—2025-26” was organized for the students of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication of Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut. In this discussion, the students of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication had a positive and meaningful debate. In the discussion, the budding students of journalism agreed that this budget is very suitable for education, health, innovation, agriculture and youth. He highlighted the various features of the Union Budget and understood its importance. In this discussion, Dr. Raghav Kumar Jha, senior media person of DD News Channel, joined online as a special speaker.

In his address, Dr. Raghav Jha said that the Union Budget focuses on inclusive development and social justice. Significant investment has been made in the field of education and health in the budget. Due to which these services will be more accessible and affordable. Dr. Jha said that special attention has been given to employment generation and skill development in the budget, which will provide new employment opportunities to the youth. He said that special attention has been given to women empowerment in the budget, which includes special schemes and programs for women. Dr. Raghav Kumar Jha said that special attention has also been given to infrastructure development in the budget, which will accelerate the development of roads, railways and airports in future. He said that India is moving towards its goal of becoming a developed nation by 2047. This budget should be considered the most appropriate budget of independent India. He told the students of Journalism and Mass Communication that as a student of journalism, you should keep a close eye on an important subject like budget.

Addressing the students during this time, Head of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication Prof. (Dr.) Subhash Chandra Thaledi said that the Union Budget-2025 is the right step towards empowering especially the poor and marginalized people. He said that the middle class will get special benefits by promoting MSME industries. Dr. Thaledi said that the allocation of more than Rs 3 lakh crore for schemes benefiting women and girls reflects the government’s commitment to create a strong role for half the population in economic development. Dr. Thaledi said that it is important for journalism students to do budget analysis. He said that the Union Budget is the pivot of economic journalism.

After the discussion, a quiz was organized for the students. In this quiz based on the Union Budget, Palak Tandon, a student of BAJMC final semester, came first, while Megha Verma and Shaurya Khanna, students of BAJMC first year, came second and third respectively.

Students like Aastha Srivastava, Bhoomi Arya, Harshul Sharma, Shakib Kaukab, Harsh, Tanu Sharma, Manisha Kumari, Sumaiya Imtiaz, Bhavna Singh, Abhishek Pawaria, Abhay Saini, Priyanshi Bhatia, Anand Kumar etc. participated in the discussion. During this time, Assistant Professor in the department Dr. Preeti Singh, Ram Prakash Tiwari, Shelly Sharma and Shikeb Majeed were also present.
