Educational tour to Jaipur

Shaheed Baba Deep Singh, Department of Home Science has planned an educational tour to Jaipur from 16-18 March 2023 to give practical exposure and enhance their knowledge about handicrafts, traditional textiles of Rajasthan, and the structure of buildings. In this tour 8 students have been taken into Jaipur along with one faculty member. On the first day, all the students visited the City palace which includes an impressive and vast array of gardens, buildings, and a textile museum of royal costumes.

Then visited Jantar Mantar, and Hawa Mahal to gain real experience with the structure of buildings and Albert hall museum to give students an idea of artifacts including paintings and embroideries.

On the second day visits have been made to Nahargarh fort so that students gain new insights into their own culture, royal architecture, wax museum, sheesh mahal, and a more global perspective.

Students also visited Jaigarh fort and Aamer fort for more vast impressions about the ancient architecture of Mughal and Royal impact.

For more exploration of interior decoration articles, they visited Rajasthan Small Scale Cottage industries. On day third they have been visited Jal Mahal, Jawahar Circle, Birla temple, World Trade Park, Sarat Carpet and Textiles, Shree Carpet and Textile, Johari Bazar, and Bapu Bazar with the aim of gaining more practical knowledge about architectural structures, printing techniques and art and craft of rich heritage of Rajasthan.
