Subharti students will reach voters for maximum voting.
Electoral Literacy Club (ELC) has been formed in Swami Vivekanand Subharti University on the directions of the Election Commission of India (ECI). Representative students from all the constituent colleges of the university have been included in this club. The Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Major General (Dr.) G.K. Thapliyal, SM(Retd.) said on this occasion that the work of this club will be to generate interest in voting among the youth and to promote and spread voting literacy. Chief Executive Officer Prof. (Dr.) Shalya Raj expressed happiness over this and said that this initiative of Subharti will attract the youth who are first time voters and will motivate the youth to vote more and more.
In the first ELC meeting of SVSU it was decided that the club members will conduct various activities for Electoral literacy in the university, with the aim of voter awareness. Under this initiative, programs like symposium, seminar, speech competition, poster making, open mic, quiz, essay writing, band show, poetry recitation, voter’s rally and electoral oath etc. will be organized from time to time.
Chief Patron of the Electoral Literacy Club of the University, Prof.(Dr.)S.C. Thaledi welcomed all the members of the club in the meeting and expressed that only the youth can motivate the youth to vote more and more. He said that club members will also have to come forward for clean and fair elections. He said that the club should work to ensure maximum voting of the youth who are first-time voters. Nodal Officer Dr. Neeraj Dhaka said that to attract voters, a selfie point is being made in the university campus, where the youth will click selfies and upload them on the website.
On this occasion, Club President Anushka Badli (Law), Vice President Manisha Jha (Mass Communication) and club executive members – Dev Utkarsh Sagar (MBBS), Eben S. John (Dental), Palak Tandon (Mass Communication), Arpit Singh (BNYS), Aditi Tyagi (Paramedical), Law Kumar (Physiotherapy), Prisca (Nursing), Shreya Attri (Liberal Arts), Ayush Srivastava (hotel management), Ekansh Dixit (science) and Nisha Rajput (pharmacy) etc. participated.
On this occasion, all the members also registered themselves as youth on My Bharat portal and recited the Electoral Oath on the website of the Election Commission of India and also received an e-certificate.
