The Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut, has commenced a four-days workshop on Artificial Intelligence titled “Think Like AI: Create, Prompt, Design.” The hybrid-mode workshop is being jointly organized by the Department and Maximum Learning Institute, Noida.
Speaking at the inaugural session, Dr. Preeti Singh, Head of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, emphasized that AI is increasingly becoming an integral part of our daily lives, including the media industry. For budding media professionals, it is essential to understand AI and learn its precise and effective usage. Keeping this in mind, the department has collaborated with Maximum Learning Institute, Noida, to organize this important workshop. She further added that all participants attending the workshop regularly will be awarded e-certificates.
During his address, Akshat Gupta, the workshop trainer and Founder-Director of Maximum Learning Institute, Noida, introduced participants to the basics of AI. He explained concepts like few-shot prompting, role prompting, and the difference between general and detailed prompting. He stressed that to extract accurate information or perform tasks using AI, it is crucial to provide correct and precise prompts. Since AI lacks the human brain’s innate ability to think independently, it will not deliver the desired output unless given clear instructions. In today’s fast-paced world, mastering the art of effective prompting is vital for leveraging AI’s potential efficiently.
The workshop has attracted students, faculty members, and non-teaching staff from various educational institutions across the country. The workshop is being coordinated by Mr. Ram Prakash Tiwari, Assistant Professor in the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication. Faculty members Ms. Shelly Sharma, Mr. Tarun Jain, Dr. Ashish Deepankar, Dr. Ashish Mishra, Dr. Amrita Chaudhary, along with non-teaching staff Mr. Prince Chauhan and Mr. Kapil Gill, and students of the department were also present during the session.
