‘Electoral awareness among youth to strengthen democracy’
A guest lecture was organized on the topic ‘Electoral awareness among youth to strengthen democracy’ courtesy of Swami Vivekanand Subharti University’s NSS, Electoral Literacy Club and Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi Subharti Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, in which Mr. Vineet Agarwal Sharda (social and political activist) was the keynote speaker.
Vineet Sharda said that India is the world’s largest youth country, if anyone can take the country forward, it is the youth power, he said that youth does not mean age but thinking, a person of any age can be young. He also said that every person above 18 years of age should get a voter ID card and register his participation in the biggest festival of democracy. While making the youth aware of history, he said that our history has been tampered with a lot, so it is very important for us to get correct and clear information.
The Vice Chancellor of the University, Major General Dr. G.K. Thapliyal was present in the program. He said that voting is the biggest power of any democratic country, voting is your right, so you should use it wisely by choosing the right candidate. He also said that the youth will have to understand the importance of a democratic country and will have to cooperate in making the country developed.
The Head of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication and Patron of the Voter Literacy Club, Prof. (Dr.) S.C. Thaledi said on this occasion that the contribution of the youth is definitely there to strengthen the country.
Before this, the lecture started traditionally with the lighting of the lamp. After this, the Head of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Prof. (Dr.) S.C. Thaledi formally welcomed Shri Vineet Agarwal Sharda ji.
The keynote speaker Vineet Agarwal Sharda ji was honored by the Head of the Department of Journalism and Patron of the Voter Literacy Club, Dr. Thaledi, on behalf of Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, by giving him a shawl and a memento.
The lecture was concluded with a vote of thanks by Anushka Badli, President of Electoral Literacy Club and student of Law College. Other members of the club Manisha Kumari, Aditi Singh, Law Kumar, Vibhanshu, Ashish Kumar were also present on this occasion.
The program was conducted by Palak Tandon, a third year Journalism and Mass Communication Department, third year. During this Shikeb Majeed, Shaili Sharma, Ram Prakash Tiwari, Himanshu along with Prince Chauhan, Kapil Gill, Kuldeep, Bijendra and selected students of Journalism Department, Naturopathy, Polytechnic, Agriculture, Physiotherapy, Para Medical, Nursing and Law Department were present.
