Department of Physical Education Conducts Health Awareness Visit at Ghat Village, Meerut
The Department of Physical Education, Faculty of Education, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut, successfully organized a Health Awareness Visit on 09 May 2026 at Ghat Village and Primary School, Ghat, Meerut. The outreach programme was conducted with the objective of promoting health awareness, personal hygiene, physical fitness, nutrition, and healthy lifestyle practices among school children and members of the local community.
The programme was organized as part of the department’s commitment towards community engagement, social responsibility, and extension activities. Faculty members and students actively participated in the visit and interacted with school children and villagers to create awareness regarding various aspects of health and wellness.
During the visit, awareness sessions were conducted on personal hygiene, balanced diet, physical fitness, mental well-being, disease prevention, and healthy lifestyle management. Students and faculty members emphasized the importance of regular physical activity, cleanliness, proper nutrition, and healthy daily habits for maintaining overall well-being.
Special attention was given to educating school children about the benefits of sports and physical activities in developing physical fitness, discipline, teamwork, and healthy behavioral patterns. Demonstrations and interactive activities were conducted to encourage children to actively participate in sports and recreational activities as part of their daily routine.
The programme at Primary School, Ghat witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, teachers, and local residents. The interactive nature of the sessions enabled participants to better understand the significance of preventive healthcare measures and the importance of adopting healthy lifestyle practices from an early age.
The Health Awareness Visit was accompanied by Dr. Praveen Kumar, Associate Professor, Department of Physical Education, Dr. Nishant Kumar, and Research Scholar Mr. Sartaz Khan, who guided the students throughout the programme and ensured the successful conduct of all awareness activities. Their active involvement significantly contributed to the educational and social impact of the visit.
The outreach activity provided valuable experiential learning opportunities for students by enabling them to apply classroom knowledge in a real community setting. It also enhanced their communication skills, leadership qualities, social responsibility, and understanding of community health promotion.
The visit was highly appreciated by the school authorities and members of the local community. The programme successfully fulfilled its objective of promoting health consciousness, physical fitness awareness, and wellness education among the participants.
