Academic-Industry Interface symposium

“Academic-Industry Interface symposium” was organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell of Swami Vivekanand Subharti University and inaugurated by Maj. Gen. (Dr.) G. K. Thapliyal, SM (Retd.), Vice-Chancellor, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut on 20.11.2021. He focused on the importance of a judicious blend of Academia, Industry and Society. He gave many examples of industries during his address in the light of entrepreneurship. The symposium focuses on preparing the students to face the challenges that they will encounter in the professional world. Mr. Ajeet Chahal, VP, Bayer Crop Science Ltd. (Bayer Groups), New Delhi & Mr. Ravindra Pandey, Business Head, Ananda Dairy Pvt. Ltd., Ghaziabad were the resource persons. Both the resource persons highlighted the expectations of the corporate world from the budding professionals and told them how to be successful in entrepreneurship.

Prof. (Dr.) R. K. Ghai, Chairperson UEDC & Dean- FoMC emphasized that the university work on preparing students in such a way that they are not theoretically well educated but practically equipped as well. Further, he told the benefit of such symposiums to academia is to enable the students to get exposure to real-life situations and understand the practices of the industry. The industry can get qualified manpower with the right skills and attitude with updated domain knowledge This steers the industry and academia on a common platform and affects an easy course of movement for the students from campus to corporate.

Dr. Shalya Raj, CEO, SVSU expressed that the academic process of creating professionals with opportunities, sensing minds in colleges should be in tandem with industry requirements and this necessitates a continuous cross-flow of knowledge and practice between industry and academia. Indian industry, after liberalization, has become marginally more aware of the vital linkage between academia and Industry. Academia is the reservoir from which we can harness highly trained and skilled technical manpower and this is facilitated with a successful industry-academia partnership. Academia and industry possess inherent strengths of their own and are mutually complementary to each other and are compelled to maintain a symbiotic relationship. Management, Pharmacy & Science students were the target group. Faculty of respective colleges were present. Prof. (Dr.) Sokindra Kumar, Principal, College of Pharmacy, Prof. (Dr.) Mahavir Singh, Dean, College of Science & Dr. Manoj Kapil, Dean & Principal, SITE. The hall was jammed packed. Dr. Nisha was the Master of Ceremony.
