International Midwifery Day 2025
May 5, 2025 – In the occasion of the International Day of the Midwife, PANNA Dhai Maa Subharti Nursing College, a constituent college of Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, today organised a multifaceted health program at the Community Health Centre (CHC) Panchali. The event aimed to highlight the vital role of midwives and enhance knowledge and skills related to maternal and child health among healthcare workers and the community.
The day’s activities featured educational sessions:
- An innovative Puppet Show on (IMNCI), GNM internship students.
- Rekha from the Medical College led an informative Talk Show focusing on the prevention and management of Anaemia in Pregnancy, a significant health concern for expectant mothers.
- Recognising the critical need for emergency preparedness, Assistant Professor Mrs. Josy Josh delivered a hands-on Newborn CPR Training Session specifically tailored for Auxiliary Nurse Midwives (ANMs), equipping them with life-saving skills.
- A practical Role Play depicting the identification and management of High-Risk Pregnancies provided valuable insights and demonstrated best practices for healthcare providers and community members.
The event under the supervision of Principal Dr. Geeta Parwanda give the the strengthening of maternal and child healthcare services at the grassroots level. By bringing together experts, frontline health workers (ANMs), and the local community, the college aimed to foster awareness, improve skills, and ultimately contribute to better health outcomes for mothers and children.
Dr. Vishal, Moic, Mr. Viskas BPM, Asst. Prof. Mr Prabhat Kumar are also present during the all events.
