Program Introduction:
International Mother Language Day is observed every year on 21st February across the world to promote linguistic diversity, cultural identity, and the preservation and promotion of mother tongues. In alignment with this global objective, the Department of Languages is organizing a University-Level Cultural Program.
The programme aims to provide students with a strong, inclusive, and creative platform to showcase their linguistic abilities, creative expression, and cultural talents. Through this event, awareness, respect, and active participation towards mother languages will be encouraged.
Objectives of the Program:
- To highlight the importance of linguistic diversity and cultural identity.
- To develop awareness regarding the preservation and promotion of mother languages.
- To provide students a platform to showcase their linguistic and creative talents.
- To promote respect, understanding, and a positive attitude towards languages.
- To strengthen cultural harmony and linguistic consciousness.
Cultural Activities:
- Drama Performance
- Solo or Group Drama
- Language: Mother Tongue
- Theme: Mother Language, Culture, Society, or Literature
- Time Limit: 7-10 minutes
- Dance Performance
- Solo / Duet / Group Dance
- Theme: Emotional or Cultural
- Time Limit: 4-5 minutes
- Singing Performance
- Solo / Group Singing
- Language: Mother Tongue
- Karaoke: Allowed
- Time Limit: 3-4 minutes
Guidelines for Participants:
- Participants may take part in more than one activity/competition.
- All performances must be decent, cultural, and disciplined.
- Limited and essential stage props or music are permitted.
- All activities must strictly adhere to the prescribed time limits.
- The decision of the judging panel shall be final and binding.
- The organizing committee reserves the right to take action in case of indiscipline.
