Panna Dhai Maa Subharti Nursing College, as part of Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, organised a series of impactful activities from May 6th to May 13th, 2025, to celebrate International Nurses Week and highlight critical aspects of nursing practice and education. The events aimed to enhance the skills of healthcare professionals, promote awareness on important health strategies, and educate future nurses on crucial areas like emergency preparedness.
The week commenced on May 6, 2025, with a focus on enhancing the skills of health workers. An in-service education workshop was conducted at the CHC Bhudbral in collaboration with the Society of Midwives. This hands-on session focused on critical skill competency in Neonatal Resuscitation, with participants performing procedures on a Neo-Natalie dummy. This initiative aimed to equip health workers with essential life-saving skills for newborns. Additionally, a compelling puppet show on IMNCI (Integrated Management of Neonatal and Childhood Illness) strategies was performed at Subharti Hospital (CSSH), effectively disseminating important information on child health engagingly. On the same day, Prof. Dr. Rahul Bansal delivered an insightful talk on “The Secret of Unborn Care,” emphasizing the significance of antenatal care.
May 10, 2025, was marked by a participative competition activity held in the multipurpose hall at CSSH. Nursing professionals formed various teams to present role plays centred on soft skills and professional expertise, creatively unfolding themes related to Nurses Day. This event fostered teamwork, enhanced communication skills, and allowed participants to express their understanding of the nursing profession’s core values.
The official International Nurses Day, May 12, 2025, was dedicated to the academic enrichment of nursing students. Online lectures on the vital topic of “Nursing in Emergencies” were organised. Students from all batches actively participated in these sessions, demonstrating their keen interest in learning about critical care in emergencies. The program saw the benefit of approximately 200 students. The session concluded with a special video presentation dedicated to Nurses Day, featuring voice notes from the Principal, inspiring and motivating the future nursing workforce.
Through the online lectures on “Nursing in Emergencies” and the overall week’s activities, Panna Dhai Maa Subharti Nursing College successfully created mass awareness regarding emergency and war preparedness among young student nurses, equipping them with knowledge crucial for handling unforeseen health crises.
The series of activities conducted throughout the week underscored Panna Dhai Maa Subharti Nursing College’s commitment to providing comprehensive education, promoting continuous learning for healthcare professionals, and celebrating the dedication and vital role of nurses in the healthcare system.
