GLIMPSE OF THE PROGRAMME:
Celebrated on March eighth every year, international women’s day is a day dedicated to honouring the achievements of women throughout history and all across the globe and is typically a day for women from all different backgrounds and cultures to band together to fight for the gender parity and women’s right.
On 5th March 2020, Society of Midwifes India (SOMI), UP chapter and Department of Community Health Nursing, Panna Dhai Maa Subharti Nursing College, organized international women’s day celebration at Primary Health Center, Pachali Khurd, Meerut UP, Dr. Anil Kumar, Additional CMO, Meerut and Dr. Praveen Gautam, District Immunization officer, Meerut, were the chief guest for the programme who addressed the gathering about the rights of women. On this occasion Mr. Ayetendra, Child Development Project Officer, Meerut, advocate, Mrs. Sangeeta Singh and Mrs. Sudha Chaudhary, Constable UP Police created awareness regarding legal rights of women and shared different help line numbers with the residents of the area.
Students of Panna Dhai Maa Subharti Nursing College organized health education programme in the form of NUKKAD NATAK and poster competition, which was very much appreciated and was followed by prize distribution. At the end of the programme three stations were created for health assessment, calcium and iron tablet distribution and Hb testing.
In this programme more than 250 persons participated which made it a great success. Dr. Mahesh Chandra, Medical Officer In Charge, PHC, Pachali Meerut extended his full co-operation and support for the successful completion of the programme.
The whole programme was carried out under the precise supervision and guidance of Dr. Geeta Parwanda, Principal, Panna Dhai Maa Subharti Nursing College, to her team which consisted of Associate professor Mrs. Shaheen Akhtar Khan, Assistant professor Ms. Bhupinder Kaur, and Assistant professor Mrs. Khushboo Rani, students of M.Sc. Nursing, B.sc Nursing, P.B. B.Sc. Nursing and ANM.
