Event:- Intra – College Sports Competition

There are lots of games played at the school and college level to enhance students’ hidden skills and abilities. The most common games are Cricket, Football, Tennis, Badminton, Basketball, Chess, Carrom and much more which are popular among students. Skills like teamwork, leadership, patience, discipline, learning from failure, Sportsmanship, etc., are developed only when students play sports on a regular basis, and these skills are equally important when it comes to studies and management, which ultimately lead to skill-building.
In this regard, Bhikaji Cama Subharti College of Hotel Management organized Intra-College three sports competitions namely ‘Chess’, ‘Carrom’ and ‘Football’, under ‘Gamers’ ‘Club’ on the date March 9-10, 2022. The indoor sports competition was held in the department and outdoor sport on the playground.
- The Carrom Competition was also organized on March 9, 2022, in the Hotel Management Department. The Carrom Competition started at 10 AM in which 22 students participated. In the preliminary Carrom competition, a total of 11 games were played in which 11 players qualified for the next round of the game. In the quarter-final round, a total of 5 games were played, as Mr. Siddharth Tyagi was not present during the quarterfinal round. In the semi-final round, two games were played – between Anjali Kumari & Akash, Sunny Kumar & Azad Hussian, as Mr. Vaibhav Sharma was not present during the semi-final round of the game. Thus, the final round of the Carrom Competition game was played between Mr. Azad Hussian & Anjali Kumari, in which Azad Hussian was the Winner.
The Carrom Competition was also organized on March 9, 2022, in the Hotel Management Department. The Carrom Competition started at 10 AM in which 22 students participated. Football Competition was held on March 10, 2022, at the athlete playground (General Mohan Singh PlayGround, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University). The game was started at 10 AM. Two teams ‘Team A’ and ‘Team B’ participated in the game.
During the 1st half of the game team – A scored one goal (Siddharth) at 5 minute & 6 second, team – B did one goal (Md. Sahil) at 7 minute, and during the 2nd half, Team – A scored one goal (Siddharth) at 17 minute and got one more point, as Md. Sahil scored an own goal at 21 minutes & 15 seconds. Team – B scored one goal (Anish Kumar) at 28 minute. Thus, till the finish of the time TEAM – A had 3 goals and TEAM – B had 2 goals. Finally TEAM – A became the Winner. Mr. Vinay Punia and Mr. Shobhit Singh acted as linemen and Dr. Dhananjay Srivastav as referee in the football competition.
After completion of all the games, Dr. Shiv Mohan Verma, Head of the Institution, Bhikaji Cama Subharti College of Hotel Management, awarded trophies and certificates to the winner & participants of each game. All the participants were also given participation certificates. Dr. Verma wished all the students for active participation in the game and gave best wishes for the upcoming University level sports competition and their future endeavors.
