Intramural Recreation Activity 2026 Kicks Off with Spirited Competition at General Mohan Singh Play Ground

Meerut, 26 August 2026: The Department of Physical Education, Faculty of Education, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut, commenced its much-awaited “Intramural Recreation Activity” today at the General Mohan Singh Play Ground, SVSU, marking the first of a four-day house-wise sporting extravaganza scheduled to continue till 29 August 2026, from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM each day. The energetic morning saw students from all four houses — Shivaji House, Subhash House, Pratap House, and Azad House — assemble on the ground with great zeal and competitive spirit, ready to battle it out across a series of recreational and sporting activities designed to foster teamwork, discipline, and healthy competition among the student community.

The ground echoed with cheers and enthusiasm as students competed fiercely for house pride, with faculty members and coordinators of the Department of Physical Education overseeing the smooth conduct of the day’s events. The spirited atmosphere, combined with disciplined participation, reflected the true essence of intramural sports in nurturing camaraderie, sportsmanship, and physical fitness among students.

As the first day’s competitions concluded, the results showcased a thrilling and closely fought contest across all houses. Shivaji House emerged as the outright winner of the day, sweeping both the boys’ and girls’ categories with an outstanding display of athleticism and team spirit. Securing the second position, Subhash House triumphed in the boys’ category, while Pratap House claimed victory in the girls’ category. The third position saw Pratap House excelling in the boys’ category, with Azad House securing the top spot among girls. Rounding off the results, Azad House secured the fourth position in the boys’ category, while Subhash House claimed the same rank in the girls’ category.

The enthusiastic participation of students across all houses set a promising and high-energy tone for the remaining days of the Intramural Recreation Activity. With three more days of competition ahead, anticipation continues to build among students and faculty alike as the houses gear up to defend and improve their standings in the days to come.
