REPORT OF Ist DAY

THEME: RESILIENT HEALTH SYSTEM AND EMINENCE IN CLINIAL PRACTICE

VENUEMANGAALYA CONVENTION CENTRE

Objectives:

  1. To improve health status by raising standards and framework of health system
  2. To understand role and significance of updated knowledge in quality nursing care as a member of health team
  3. To emphasize on key aspects of eminence clinical practice
  4. Nurses are essential in transforming health care and health system such that no person is left behind without access to treatment and improvised care
  5. The field of nursing has grown by leaps and bounds, with the importance of its role in the health care system.

INAUGURATION

The seminar commenced with formal registration (online mode). Inaugural ceremony initiated by welcoming all the respected Guests and the delegates. Program was started at 10:00am with a prayer song. A warm welcome address delivered by Respected Principal Madam Dr. Geeta Parwanda, Faculty of Nursing, SVSU. Lamp lighting of Ceremonial Lamp by the dignitaries was followed.

The Chief Guests for the inaugural session was Dr. Shailya Raj, MDS, CEO, SVSU, Dr. D.C Saxena, Pro Vice-Chancellor, SVSU, Guest of Honour Col. Saroj Verma, Principal Matron, Military Hospital, Mathura and Special Guest Mrs. Durga Sapkota, B.N Youth Health Advocate, Nepal.

All the respected dignitaries welcome the gatherings with their inspirational speech and they released the theme of the IstInternational Seminar and the Souvenir.

Inauguration of AV Aids Exhibition and skill session on Basic Suturing Skills and Fall prevention (Patient Safety) was done by the dignitaries and the exhibition was opened for all the delegates who have gathered for the conference.

PLENARY SESSION-I

The session starts at 11:00 am after the tea break and the delegates were distributed pre-test questionnaires.

Presentation given on the topic of clinical pathway in critical care by Mrs. Vetriselvi, Head of Quality, Chief Nursing Officer through video conferencing. She spoke about all the criteria for the clinical pathway and how to implement them.

The next session was presented by Dr. Harivansh Chopra, Prof. and HOD Dept. of Community Medicine, LLRM Medical College, Meerut at 11:45am. The chairperson for the session was Dr. Rahul Bansal, Prof. &HOD Dept. of Community Medicine, SVSU on the topic of “Framework analysis of Resilient Health System”. He has conveyed about the scenario of recent corona virus status and its impact. The session was interactive with group participation.

PLENARY SESSION-II

The session was started at 2:00 pm after lunch break and Mrs. Durga Sapkota B.N. Youth Health Advocate, Nepal had delivered a session on the topic of “Legal and ethical concerns in health system” and had given an example how to solve the ethical dilemmas. Simultaneously Skill sessions were taken by Mrs. Amrit Brar, Paediatric OT nurse, PGI, Chandigarh on Basic Suturing skills and Asst. Prof. Anandh Sam Perera, Faculty of Nursing, SVSU, Mrs. Ahalya, NPCC I Yr on Fall Prevention (Patient Safety).

The next session was taken over by Mrs. Sandhya Shankar, Chief of Nursing, Fortis health care Ltd on the topic Good Clinical Practice at 3:00pm. She has mentioned about the importance of soft skills for the profession and new updates in technology smoothen the quality patient care. The session ends at 3:45 pm.

REPORT OF 2ND DAY (01/02/2020)

PLENARY SESSION-III

On the 2ndday, the 1st International Seminar was inaugurated by litting the lamp by the dignitaries. The plenary session was started at 10:00am by Dr. Kamli Prakash, Vice Principal, Himalayan College of Nursing, Himalayan University, Dehradun on the topic Key aspects of eminence clinical practice.She gave us the importance of evidence based practice into nursing and the steps of EBPwhich was chaired by Dr.GeetaParwanda, Principal, Panna Dhai Maa Subharti Nursing College, SVSU and was ended at 10:45am

The session was taken by Mrs. Geetanjali Chatterjee, Nurse Practitioner, USA on the topic Global Health Care Challenges & Trends and was chaired by Col. Rekha Bhatacharya, R R Army College of nursing, Delhi.

The next session was started at 12:45pm on the topic Challenges in good clinical practice taken by Col. Rekha Bhatacharya, R Rcollege of nursing, Delhi and was chaired by Dr. Kamli Prakash, Vice Principal, Himalayan College of Nursing, Himalayan University, Deharadun. The session updated the delegates regarding the difficulties faced during the nursing care to client in various health setting covering infection, occupational stress etc. and the session was ended at 1:15pm

The another event was the panel discussion which was on Role of Nurse Practitioner in Health Care Reforms and was moderated by Col. Rosakutty, Military Hospital, Delhi Cantt. The panelits were from across the globe. The panelists and their topics are as follows-

  2. Mrs.DurgaSapkota, B.N, Youth Health Advocate, Nepal- Health policies in Nepal
  3. Mr.Phong Son Pham, Student, Buddhist Studies, SVSU- Health policies in UK
  4. Mrs.PromilaPandey, Vice-Principal, MAMC, Agroha- Health policies in India

The morning plenary session was ended at 2:00pm followed by lunch and the delegates were given very delicious varieties of food and it was catered excellently.

The scientific paper session was held, and was evaluated by Dr. Kamli Praksh, Vice Principal, Himalayan College of Nursing, Himalayan University, Deharadun and Prof. Mrs. Shalin, HOD Child Health Nursing, PDMSNC, SVSU. Total eight (8) delegates presented their paper. The poster presentation was evaluated by Col.

The Valedictory function was started at 3.00 pm. Col. Gita, College of Nursing, AFMC, Pune was the chief guest for the function and addressed the gathering. The final report of 1st International Seminar was presented by Assoc. Prof. Hepsi Natha, Co-Chairperson, HOD, Dept of Medical –Surgical Nursing. The momentos were presented to the best paper, poster and post-test. There were four cultural events from various colleges, 2 from PDMSNC, Meerut and 1 from MAMC, Agroha and 1 from Pal college of Nursing, Haldwani which made the evening colourful.

The Ist International Seminar was ended by vote of thanks by Prof. Shalin.S, HOD, Dept of Child Health Nursing at 4:00pm followed by tea & snacks.

The delegates were from across the world like Dubai and from different states of India like Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, and Maharashtra.

Master of Ceremony were Asst. Prof Mr. Anandh Sam Perera, Dept of MSN and Assoc. Prof. Mrs. Shaheen, Dept of Community Health Nursing, Faculty of Nursing, SVSU, Meerut.

Postgraduate students including NPCC and Post basic Nursing has put an effort for making the International Seminar a reality. This seminar has much importance in their academic and for their further knowledge and experience and collaborations between institutions and disciplines.
