Lecture on ”The Role of Youth in Nation Building”
A guest lecture on the topic “Role of youth in nation building” was organized under the joint aegis of National Service Scheme(NSS) Cell of Swami Vivekanand Subharti University and Bhartiya Pragyan Parishad (Pragya Pravah). In this lecture Prof. (Dr.) Sadanand Damodar Sapre, former All India Convener of Bhartiya Pragyan Parishad (Pragya Pravah) was the chief guest and keynote speaker. Prof. Bir Pal Singh of Physics Department, CCS University Meerut and Er. Avnish Tyagi were present as special speakers. Pro-VC of the University, Prof. (Dr.) Himanshu Aeran, Chairman of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Chair, Dr. Deshraj Singh and Head of Journalism and Mass Communication Department and Program Coordinator of NSS Cell, Prof. (Dr.) Subhash Chandra Thaledi was also present in this programme.
The lecture started with lighting of lamps, after which the guests were welcomed by presenting them the planters as a token of gratitude. In his welcome address Prof. (Dr.) Subhash Chandra Thaledi said that this lecture was organized on the topic of national importance under the Swachhata Hi Seva campaign of National Service Scheme. The aim of this lecture is to make the youth aware about their role in nation building.
Chief guest and key speaker Prof. (Dr.) Sadanand Damodar Sapre while addressing the NSS volunteers said that it is very important for the youth to work for the service of the country. The youth of the country are the future of the country. He further said that it is not necessary that the work of serving the country can be done only by sacrificing one’s life for the country, but you can also achieve your goal of national service through creative and social work. Dr. Sapre said that the National Service Scheme (NSS) is doing a great job of connecting the youth to social service in the country, which is the need of the hour. He said that the most important work in the context of national service is to awaken the sense of pride and belongingness towards the nation in the minds of the youth. Dr. Sapre said that the role of youth in nation building is really very important. The energy, enthusiasm and innovative thinking of the youth can contribute significantly to the development of the nation. The youth can contribute significantly to the education of the poor, cleanliness campaign, employment generation etc. by engaging in social service. Former Professor of NIT Bhopal Dr. Sapre said that the young generation should contribute with new inventions and innovations in the field of science and technology.
Pro-VC of the University Prof. (Dr.) Himanshu Aeran in his address said that the youth have a very important role in the path of developing India, because India is a young nation. The youth get an opportunity to play an important role in the society and they should play it lively. He said that only the youth can bring the best development of the nation. This will be possible only when the youth are guided in the right and balanced way. Today the youth should come forward for social service. He said that our university is named after Swami Vivekananda ji, the source of inspiration for the youth. He said that Subharti University is continuously committed to education, service, culture and nationalism.
During the lecture, Professor of CCS University and Regional President of Bhartiya Pragyan Parishad (Pragya Pravah) Prof. Bir Pal Singh and Convenor of Pragya Pravah, Meerut Er. Avnish Tyagi also addressed the volunteers. In order to connect the NSS volunteers with the Swachhata Abhiyan, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Chair president Dr. Deshraj Singh administered the Swachhata Pledge to everyone. In the end, the program coordinator and NSS unit 3 program officer Shivani Bhadoria presented a vote of thanks. The program was hosted by BAJMC second year students Garima Pandey and Manisha Kumari. During this, program officers of all the four units of National Service Scheme Ram Prakash Tiwari, Dr. Vishal Kumar, Nishant Gaurav, Shivani Bhadoria and college coordinator Dr. Kapil Rastogi, Dr. Neha Singh, Dr. Supurna Pandit, Pankaj Kumar, Pushpendra Kumar, Shikeb Majeed, Shelly Sharma and Kapil Gill along with more than 400 NSS volunteers were present.
