Department of Physical Education Facilitates Live Telecast of UGC Chetna Series on “TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan”

Meerut, 25 August 2026: In compliance with the UGC communication dated 19 August 2026 regarding the TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan in Higher Education Institutions, the Department of Physical Education, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut, successfully facilitated the live telecasting of a special lecture under the UGC Chetna Series at the Conference Hall, First Floor, Faculty of Education (FOE), commencing at 10:00 AM. The session, themed “TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan: Creating Awareness for a TB-Free India,” was streamed live through a projector for the benefit of students, faculty members, and non-teaching staff, with Dr. Shobini Rajan, Deputy Director General (TB), Central TB Division, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, as the esteemed speaker. During the session, Dr. Rajan shed light on the government’s ongoing efforts and strategic roadmap towards eliminating tuberculosis from the country, emphasizing the critical role that educational institutions can play in spreading awareness, early detection, and community sensitization towards achieving a TB-free India. The session offered valuable insights into the symptoms, preventive measures, and treatment protocols associated with TB, encouraging students and faculty members to actively participate as awareness ambassadors within their communities. The programme was meticulously coordinated under the overall guidance of the Head of the Department, with designated responsibilities ensuring smooth execution: Mr. Sharad Panwar ensured the timely arrival of students at the venue and coordinated the live telecast and projector setup, Mr. Shubham Rathi ensured orderly participation while maintaining attendance records and photographic documentation (both GPS and Non-GPS), and Mr. Sanjith TK undertook the preparation of the event report and coordinated the news and publication documentation of the programme. The initiative stood aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) and SDG 4 (Quality Education), reflecting the department’s continued commitment to public health awareness and holistic student development. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members of the Department of Physical Education, who engaged attentively with the session and expressed their commitment towards contributing to the national mission of a TB-free India.
