With a Developed India: Colors of Art
Grand Mehndi Competition at Swami Vivekananda Subharti University
Under the auspices of the Cultural Committee of Swami Vivekananda Subharti University, the Department of Education and the Department of Physical Education, Faculty of Education, jointly organized a Mehndi Competition on the theme “With a Developed India: Colors of Art.” Date 09.10.2025. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from 75 talented students representing various faculties of the University.
The program commenced with a welcome address and the felicitation of the judges. The distinguished guests and judges for the event were Dr. Neha Singh, Head of the Fashion Department, Dr. Nisha Singh, and Dr. Sarika. They were warmly welcomed by Dr. Indra Singh, Head of the Department of Education, with a token of appreciation in the form of a potted plant, symbolizing growth and creativity.
Participants showcased an array of artistic and intricate mehndi designs, reflecting traditional artistry blended with contemporary creativity. The judges highly appreciated the skill, precision, and innovative patterns displayed by the contestants.
The competition was smoothly coordinated by Dr. Manju Adhikari and Dr. Reshu Rani, whose efforts ensured the event’s success. Faculty members and students from various departments also extended their valuable support and participation.
In the results, Ms. Achal and Renu from the Faculty of Fine Arts secured the first position. The second position was shared by Arpita from the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Faculty of Law and Iram from the Faculty of Fine Arts. The third position was jointly won by Vanshika from the Faculty of Law, and Kritika and Ekta Arya from the Faculty of Fine Arts.
Addressing the gathering, Professor Sandeep Kumar, Dean, Faculty of Education, commended the students for their creativity and dedication. He encouraged all participants to continue nurturing their artistic talents alongside their academic pursuits.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Manju Adhikari, who congratulated all participants and expressed gratitude to the judges, faculty members, and organizing team for their contribution to the success of the event.
The Mehndi Competition not only provided a vibrant platform for students to express their artistic flair but also celebrated India’s rich cultural heritage under the spirit of a “Developed India” through the colors of art.
