National Conference on “Contemporary Issues in Management in India”

Acharya Vishnu Gupta Subharti College of Management & Commerce, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut, organized a National Conference on “Contemporary Issues in Management in India” on 30 January 2026 at Satyajit Ray Auditorium. The conference was conducted in two sessions and drew wide participation from academicians, researchers, industry experts, and students.

The inaugural session began at 10:30 a.m. with an introductory note by Dr.Nisha Singh, Organizing Secretary, followed by the ceremonial lamp lighting. The programme was graced by Dr. Avnish Kumar, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Women Technical University, Delhi, as the Chief Guest.

Prominent speakers and guests included Prof. (Dr.) Rajneesh Ratan (IQAC Head, Gopal Narayan Singh University, Sasaram), Mr.Vivek Bansal (Associate Vice President, Bajaj Capital India Limited), Prof. (Dr.) Vivek Sharma (Gopal Narayan Singh University, Sasaram), Prof. (Dr.) Himanshu Agrawal (D.N. College, CCS University, Meerut), and Dr. Mohammad Imran (Assistant Professor, UPES, Dehradun). The guests were welcomed with saplings, shawls, and mementos.

Prof. (Dr.) Padma Misra, Officiating Dean, delivered the welcome address. The Hon’ble Pro-Vice Chancellor, SVSU, Dr. (Col.) Devendra Swarup, also addressed the gathering and highlighted the need for skill development, ethical leadership, inclusivity, and management education aligned with the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.

Hon’ble CEO Dr. Shalya Raj extended best wishes for the conference and noted that management in India is facing rapid digital acceleration and increasing automation, making it essential to maintain a healthy balance between human workforce and Artificial Intelligence. She emphasized upskilling to bridge skill gaps, sustaining productivity while preventing burnout, and building a flexible work culture. She also underlined the need to prioritize inclusion, women leadership, safeguarding marginalized groups, and accountability, so that India can confidently progress towards becoming a developed nation by 2047. She further expressed confidence that the organizing team led by Prof. (Dr.) Padma Misra would enhance the university’s academic reputation through such initiatives.

A special panel discussion on “Management Issues in India in the Context of Viksit Bharat 2047” was moderated by Prof. (Dr.) Prabhat Kumar, Academic Coordinator, FoMC, SVSU. Speakers emphasized pride in Indian language and culture, national identity, talent retention, and the relevance of globalization with localization.

The technical sessions were held in offline and online mode. The HR session was chaired by Dr. Vinky Sharma and Dr. Rakhi Kumari Jha, the Finance session by Dr. Sarika and Dr. Preety, and the Marketing Management session was conducted by Dr. Gaurav Sharma and Dr. Shantam Babbar.

Around 200 students participated offline, while 400 participants joined online. A total of 60 research papers were presented by participants from Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Delhi-NCR, Bihar, and Haryana.

During the valedictory, Best Research Paper Awards were announced by Dr. Gaurav Sharma, Associate Professor, FoMC. Awardees included Ms. Shalu (CCS University, Meerut) for Themes 1 & 4, Mr. Satyaveer Singh (FoMC, SVSU) for Themes 5 & 6, and Ms. Amita Chaudhary (Faculty of Science, SVSU) for Themes 2, 3 & 7. All presenters and participants received certificates.

The session concluded with the valedictory address by Dr.Sarika, Associate Professor, FoMC, and vote of thanks by Dr. Nisha Singh. The conference was supported by faculty members and volunteers including, Dr. Shreya Panwar, Dr. Preeti Singhwal, Dr. Dolly Vaish, Ms. Amita, Ms. Shivani, Mr. Umang Verma, Mr. Ashish Pant, and Mr. Ayush Chauhan, and was anchored by Ms. Aditi Baxter (student of MBA, Semester II).

The conference strengthened the university’s commitment to promoting research, academic dialogue, and innovation in management education.
