National Consultation on Care, Justice and Support for Acid Attack Survivors

Prof. Dr. Vaibhav Goel Bhartiya, Dean – Research & Development, was invited to the National Consultation on Care, Justice and Support for Acid Attack Survivors held at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. The high-level consultation was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Ministry of Health, National Legal Services Authority (NALSA), National Commission for Women (NCW), senior lawyers, NGOs, and acid attack survivors from across the country.

The consultation focused on strengthening legal frameworks, healthcare support, rehabilitation, and justice delivery mechanisms for acid attack survivors. Prof. Dr. Bhartiya’s participation underscored the importance of academic and research institutions in shaping inclusive policies and evidence-based interventions for survivor care and social reintegration.

The event highlighted collaborative efforts between government bodies, legal authorities, civil society organizations, and survivors to ensure dignity, protection, and long-term support for acid attack survivors in India.
