On this occasion, the Chief Guest, Brigadier Dinesh Dahiya, Commandant and Managing Director of 510 Army Base Workshop, Meerut, addressed the students of Subharti Defense Academy, NCC, and NSS. He emphasized, “You are the future of tomorrow. I am confident that you will adopt Swami Vivekanand’s ideals and follow the path he laid, contributing to the creation of a society free from discrimination.” Brigadier Dahiya further added, “The environment of nationalism at Swami Vivekanand Subharti University is inspiring. It feels as though this institution is working toward fulfilling the dreams envisioned by our countless freedom fighters. For this, I commend the founders, officials, and faculty for instilling the spirit of patriotism among the youth.”
Colonel Rajesh Tyagi, Director of Subharti Defense Academy, stated that the rally aimed to instill Swami Vivekanand’s ideals in the youth and guide them toward the path of nation-building. He reiterated the university’s long-standing commitment to nurturing a sense of patriotism in its students, enabling them to contribute to building a strong and inclusive India, free from discrimination—a dream cherished by countless brave martyrs of the nation.
The rally was also addressed by Dr. A.P. Garg, Dean Academics and Director of Subharti Research Cell. He urged the youth to remember Swami Vivekanand’s historic speech delivered at Chicago in 1893, which highlighted India’s rich philosophy, culture, and spirituality to the Western world. He encouraged students to internalize Swami Vivekanand’s ideals and prepare themselves to contribute as nation-builders for a united and progressive India.
Dr. Monica Mehrotra, the event convener and Coordinator of the Swami Vivekanand Chair, stated that the idea of the rally was inspired by the university’s Vice Chancellor, Major General (Dr.) G.K. Thapliyal, Sena Medal (Retd.). He believes in not only educating students but also preparing them as nation-builders aligned with Swami Vivekanand’s vision of a strong and united India. Addressing the youth, Dr. Mehrotra emphasized that young individuals possess immense power and, once determined, can achieve anything. She further remarked, “Every individual at Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, whether a student or a staff member, embodying Swami Vivekanand’s ideals, is contributing to nation-building, regardless of their age.” She encouraged everyone to celebrate National Youth Day with a pledge to remain vigilant about the nation’s honor and work tirelessly toward its advancement.
The rally participants, inspired by Swami Vivekanand’s ideals, pledged to be active contributors to society. Among those present were Mr. Nikhil Tyagi, Mr. Ram Prakash Tiwari, Mr. Shikeb Majid, Dr. Suparna Pandit, as well as cadets and students from Subharti NSS, NCC, and Defense Academy, along with Subharti security personnel.
