National Youth Day Celebration at Faculty of AYUSH

The Faculty of AYUSH in association with Swami Vivekanand Chair, established in Maharishi Aurobindo, Subharti College & Hospital of Naturopathy & Yogic Sciences celebrated “National Youth day” on 13-01-2025 to commemorate the 162nd birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. On this occasion, a workshop was organized on “Mind-Body and Medicine” for Youth Empowerment.

The workshop was inaugurated by Hon’ble Vice- Chancellor Maj Gen (Dr.) G.K. Thapliyal, Prof. (Dr.) Abhay M Shankaregowda, Dean, Faculty of AYUSH and Dr. Monika Mehrotra, Convener, Swami Vivekanand Chair with lamp lightening and Saraswati  Vandana.

Dean, Faculty of AYUSH Prof. (Dr.) Abhay M Shankaregowda gave welcome note and welcomed the guest with the Plantar. Hon’ble Vice- Chancellor Maj Gen (Dr.) G.K. Thapliyal enlightened the Youth about the Swamiji’s View. He said the youth should control their mind, make their character and know their social responsibility for making the nation. Youth are the future of nation. Mind has enough power to prevent and heal the body from diseases by Mind Body & Medicine. Convener, Swami Vivekanand Chair Dr. Monika Mehrotra spoke about the Swami Vivekanand Chair. She told, Chair was establish in 12 Jan 2021 in the university for to honor and perpetuate the teachings and philosophy of Swami Vivekanand.

In the first Session speaker,  Dr. Vidyasagar M, Assistant Professor, MASCHNYS spoke about Swamiji’s views that Youth are taking stress which has Impact on Mind & the Body. He also told that Yoga & Naturopathy is the easy way to reduce the stress from the youth and they will be healthy and productive for the nation. The second speaker, Dr. Niraj N Rishi, Assistant Professor, MASCHNYS spoke about the quotes of Swamiji for youth empowerment and different yogic books written by Swamiji. He spoke about different techniques like Yama, Niyama, Asana, Pranayama & meditation which have very good impact on Mind & Body. Youth can control the mind by simply controlling the breath. In the second session Breathing exercise, Pranayama & meditation were taught to the Youth.

Dr. Abhay Kumar, Assistant Professor, MASCHNYS gave vote of Thanks. The central purpose of this workshop is to empower the youth by exploring the intersection of mind and body medicine, focusing on techniques to enhance mental and physical health, thereby fostering a balanced and productive life.
