NSS volunteers took out a rally in Subharti on Veer Bal Diwas-2024
On the occasion of Veer Bal Diwas-2024, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut celebrated the memory of Sahibzadas of the 10th Sikh Guru- Guru Gobind Singh Ji on Thursday. On this occasion, an awareness rally was taken out among the students by the NSS Cell, SVSU, Meerut, Which reached the Vice Chancellor’s office via various routes of the university campus. Vice Chancellor Major General (Dr.) G.K. Thapliyal, SM (Retd.) and Registrar, Group Captain M. Yakub welcomed the Balidan Smriti Awareness Rally at the Vice Chancellor’s Office premises.
Vice Chancellor (Dr.) G.K. Thapliyal addressing the rally, said that we should always remember the bravery and sacrifice of the Sahibzadas and take inspiration from their stories. He said that ‘Veer Bal Diwas’ reminds us of the unwavering courage of young souls who stood up to oppression and injustice. He also emphasized on the bravery of young hearts like Sahibzada Zorawar Singh and Sahibzada Fateh Singh, who teach us that age is no barrier to valor. The Vice Chancellor also said that the legacy of Veer Bal Diwas inspires every child to live life with courage and righteousness for justice.
University’s NSS Program Coordinator Prof. (Dr.) Subhash Chandra Thaledi said on this occasion that to celebrate Veer Bal Diwas-2024, a poetry recitation competition and speech competition was also organized by the NSS Cell among the students. In this competition, the students poignantly described the sacrifice of Veer Sahibzadas in their own words. During this, the students, taking inspiration from the martyrdom of the brave boys, pledged to keep themselves steadfast on the path of national service.
During this, NSS program officer Dr. Vishal Kumar, Ram Prakash Tiwari, Gaurang Pal, teacher’s from journalism department Shelly Sharma, Shikeb Majeed and non-teaching staff Kapil Gill and Bijendra etc. were present along with hundreds of NSS volunteers.
