Report on Painting Competition Organized by Women Empowerment Committee
The Women Empowerment Committee of Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut, successfully organized a painting competition as part of Mission Shakti Phase 5, an initiative by the Government of Uttar Pradesh aimed at promoting women empowerment and gender equality.
The event took place on October 11, 2025 and witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across various departments of the university. The central theme of the competition was “Empowering the Girl Child through Sports and Education”, emphasizing the pivotal role of education and sports in fostering confidence, independence, and equality for girls.
Around 40 participants showcased their creativity and deep understanding of the theme through vibrant and thought-provoking artwork. Each painting reflected unique perspectives on how empowering girls in the fields of education and sports can contribute to building a stronger and more inclusive society.
The competition was judged by a panel of esteemed faculty members who evaluated the entries based on creativity, relevance to the theme, artistic skill, and overall impact. Winners were awarded certificates and prizes in a short felicitation ceremony held after the event.
It is through a constant encouragement from Hon’ble CEO, Dr. Shalya Raj and Vice Chancellor, Prof. Pramod Sharma that such meaningful awareness programs take shape.
The initiative aimed not only to encourage artistic expression but also to raise awareness about the importance of providing equal opportunities to the girl child in all spheres of life.
Mission Shakti Phase 5 continues to inspire meaningful dialogue and action, and this painting competition served as a valuable step in furthering its goals within the university community.
