The Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi Subharti Department of Journalism and Mass Communication organized a panel discussion titled “From Traditional TV to Digital Broadcasting” on 9 September 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Subharti Media Studio. The programme was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Santosh Kumar Gautam with the objective of providing students with an opportunity to understand the transformation of television broadcasting in the digital age and to gain practical exposure to media production.
The programme featured Prof. Ritesh Chaudhary as the guest speaker, while Anushka Singh, BAJMC student served as the host. The session was designed as an interview-based programme, focusing on the evolution of television from traditional broadcasting formats to contemporary digital platforms. Prof. Chaudhary shared valuable insights into the changing nature of television, technological advancements, digital content consumption, audience behaviour, and the emerging opportunities and challenges for media professionals.
A significant feature of the programme was the interactive session with students. Students actively participated in the discussion and raised questions related to digital broadcasting, OTT platforms, changing audience preferences, social media, technological innovation, and the future of television journalism. The interaction enabled students to connect theoretical concepts studied in the classroom with practical developments in the media industry.
The programme also provided valuable hands-on experience to students involved in various aspects of production. The script was written by BAJMC student Jahnvi Kaur, while Tushar worked as the programme producer. The technical responsibilities of camera and lighting were handled by Argo Vishwas, Ayushi, and Sakshi Singh. Their coordinated efforts contributed to the smooth execution and professional presentation of the programme.
The panel discussion proved to be an enriching academic and practical experience for the students. It enhanced their understanding of the changing broadcasting landscape while developing their skills in scripting, anchoring, programme production, camera operation, lighting, and interactive communication. The event successfully demonstrated the importance of integrating classroom learning with practical media experiences in contemporary journalism and mass communication education.
