Lamp lighting ceremony, an auspicious occasion in every nurses life is Held in reverence to Florence Nightingale or Lady with the Lamp as she is more popularly known, this ceremony initiates the students into the noble profession of nursing, adorned in their uniforms for the first time, these students hereafter will study and practice in actual medical surroundings. The lamp lighting ceremony formally declares the student’s entry into the nursing profession
The Lamp lighting ceremony of Panna Dhai Maa Subharti University, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University for the 12th batch of BSc nursing Students was held on 6th March 2021, with the formal inaugural by Chief Guest Dr. Shalya Raj, CEO, SVSU, Dr. Vijay Wadhwan, Pro Vice Chancellor, SVSU, Dr. D C Saxsena, Honorary Director General, SVSU, and Dr. Geeta Parwanda, Principal, PDMSNC, SVSU.
The programme initiated with the inaugural of Research museum by Chief Guest for the occasion, Dr. Shalya Raj, CEO, SVSU, followed by Lighting of the Lamp by the dignitaries.

Nisha G Asst. Prof, PDMSN passed the light to novice Nurses. All 85 students rendered in to the profession by taking the oath delivered by Dr. Geeta Parwanda, Principal, PDMSNC, SVSU. Dr. Shalya Raj, CEO, SVSU, who was also the chief guest of the occasion, congratulated the students on this event and blessed them to practice their profession with sincerity and loyality.
The program was further proceeded by BSc nursing 3rd year students who presented a Role play depicting the contribution of, both national and international, great women leaders of history. The act was marvelous and was very much appreciated by everyone.
The whole was moderated by Mrs. Shaheen Akhtar Khan, Associate professor, Department of Community health nursing. At the end Mrs. Nisha G, Asst. Prof, Department of Mental Health Nursing, concluded the program with a vote of thanks.
