“Pink Sunday on Cycle” rally
Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut organized a “Pink Sunday on Cycle” rally on the occasion of International Women’s Day on 9 March 2025 under the joint aegis of the Department of Physical Education and Physical Education Foundation of India. The aim of which was to underline the importance of women’s empowerment and health. The rally was inaugurated by the chief guest Vice Chancellor Major General Dr. GK Thapliyal by flagging off from the General Mohan Singh Playground Gate No. 2 of the university. Passing through various routes of the university, the cycle rally was finished at General Mohan Singh Playground Gate No. 2. On this day, women were especially encouraged to cycle so that they could not only improve their physical health but also fulfill their responsibility towards the environment. In which women became a symbol of unity by riding bicycles. Women participating in the programs said that cycling has also improved their fitness and mental state, and it has also proved helpful in overcoming social barriers. Through this event, the message was given that women should take active steps for their health, independence and self-reliance. On this occasion, Lieutenant Professor Dr. Sandeep Kumar, Dr. Praveen Kumar, Dr. Manju Adhikari, Dr. Deepak Raghav, Dr. Atul Tiwari, Dr. Ankit Singh Jadon, Dr. Nishant Kumar, Shubham Rathi and Kapil Shakya from the Department of Physical Education were present.
