A poster-making competition was organised by the Department of Community Medicine at the Medical College of Swami Vivekananda Subharti University, Meerut.
Dr. Pawan Parashar, Head of the Department of Community Medicine, informed that the One World One Health Initiative mission is being organized under the joint auspices of the Indian Association of Preventive and Social Medicine and the Indian Council of Medical Research. Under this mission, various competitions such as rallies, CME, quizzes, speech competitions, extempore, photography, meme and reel making are being organized by the Community Medicine departments of all medical colleges across the country. He further explained that the objective of this initiative is to promote a comprehensive health approach as a one health initiative, which recognizes the interconnectedness of human, animal, and environmental health.
Under this initiative, a poster-making competition was organized at the Community Medicine Department, Subharti Medical College, Meerut, in which approximately 35 groups participated and prepared posters. Posters were made on various categories such as urbanization, environment, microbiology, zoonotic diseases, etc. Approximately 200 students from the MBBS 2023 batch participated in this competition. The judging panel included Dr. Shilpi Jain, Dr. Shweta Bhardwaj, Dr. Jaskiran Kaur, Dr. Pritam Singh, and Mr.Shriram. Group eight received the first prize in Climate Change, group two received the second prize in Urbanization, group four received the third prize in Zoonotic Diseases, group five also received the third prize in Antimicrobial Resistance, and group five received a consolation prize in Environment. Dr. Rahul Bansal, Dr. Varsha Chaudhary, Dr. Anuradha Dave, Dr. Monika Gupta, Dr. Chhavi Kiran Gupta, Dr. Rijul Ranjan, Dr. Sarvajeet Singh, Dr. Kaynat Nasser and Dean Students Welfare, Dr. Sartaj Ahmed, provided special support for the program.
