To commemorate National Voters’ Day, the Department of Languages, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University (SVSU), organised a poster-making competition on the theme “My Vote, My Right” on 28 January 2026. The event aimed to raise awareness among students about the significance of voting in a democratic system.
Students from various departments participated enthusiastically, using art as a medium to express their views on democratic values and civic responsibility. The posters, rich in colour and creativity, highlighted themes such as the power of a single vote, ethical voting practices, youth participation, and responsible citizenship.
The programme began with an inaugural address by Dr. Seema Sharma, Head of the Department of Languages, who underscored the importance of nurturing civic awareness and recognising the strength of each individual vote in a democracy. Abhijeet Sharma welcomed the gathering and coordinated the event, stressing the crucial role of young voters in shaping the nation’s democratic future.
Participants were then given time to design their posters using charts, colours, and impactful slogans. The venue buzzed with creativity, social consciousness, and patriotic fervour throughout the event, making the initiative a meaningful tribute to National Voters’ Day.
