WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY & WEEK REPORT-2021

THEME:  “Mental Health in an Unequal World”

EVENT: WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY & WEEK.

VENUE: PANNA DHAI MAA SUBHARTI NURSING COLLEGE SUBHARTI UNIVERSITY MEERUT IN COLLABORATION WITH PSYCHIATRIC SOCIAL WORKERS PROFESSIONALS

NAVIGATION: DEPARTMENT OF PSYCHIATRY, PANNA DHAI MAA SUBHARTI NURSING COLLEGE.

 BENEFICIARIES: PATIENTS, PATIENT RELATIVES, STUDENTS OF GNM 2ND YEAR, BSC(N) 3rd YEAR AND MSC(N) 1st YEAR.

Day: 1 (10/10/2021)

World mental health day was celebrated in Panna Dhai Maa Subharti Nursing College on 10/10/2021 with the theme Mental Health in an Unequal World. The day started with chart preparation and flex board was prepared and displayed by the department of mental health nursing. These displays enriched the views with the knowledge of mental health in changing world, its purposes, and prevention along with management tips.

The world mental health day theme was introduced by Mr. Arun. R, Asso. Prof & HOD Department of mental health nursing, PDMSNC, explained the theme of world health day 2021.

As a part of the World Mental Health   Day celebration,  PANNA DHAI MAA SUBHARTI  NURSING COLLEGE organized an Intercollege seminar competition on 10/10/2021.

Total 27 students actively participated in the competition and presented their Essays. 

Dr. Senthil, Dept Of Psychiatric, PGIMER, Chandigarh and Mrs.Sreeja, Senior Tutor, 2ndIncharge Of  Nursing Education, Central Institute of Psychiatry, Ranchi, Jharkhand were the judges for the Essay presentation.

Top 3 essays

  1. Ms.Lekha Grewal, Bsc(N)   – 1st prize – Command Hospital, Lucknow
  2. Ms.SwatiPhaugat, Bsc(N) 3rd year  – 2nd prize, – PDMSNC, SVSU.
  3. Ms.Nargis Malik, Bsc(N) 3rd year  -3rd prize- Narayan Swami College of Nursing, Dehradun.

Day:2 ( 11/10/2021)

Dr. Senthil, Department of Psychiatry, PGIMER, CHANDIGARH, presented the importance of mental health and Mental Health in an Unequal World.

A total of 110 students attended the online webinar.

Day: 3 (12/10/2022)

Department of Mental health nursing has conducted health talks with patients and their relatives along with Dr. Rina Kumari, Asst. Prof, Dept of Psychiatric, CSSH, SVSU, regarding management and prevention of mental illness and creating of a supportive environment in General OPD and Psychiatric wards.

 

Day: 4 (13/10/2020)-WEBINAR:

Dr. Raghu. P, Dept of Psychiatry, NIMHANS, Bengaluru, Karnataka has explained “Mental health issues and internet addiction among college students”.

A total of 100 students have attended the webinar.

 

Day:5 (14/10/2021)

  • On the Eve of Mental Health Week 2021, Video Competition was held on 14.10.2021 from 2 PM to 4 PM. 

Total number of students participated: 10

The winners are as follows:

1st place – Mr.Ajit Kumar, M.Sc I yr

2nd place – Ms. Priyanka Rati, GNM II yr

3rd place – Ms.Deepika Singh, GNM II yr

 

Day: 6 (15/10/2021)

Dr.N.Srinivasan, Department of Psychiatry, Arupadaiveedu Medical College and hospital, Puducherry has given a lecturer on Psychosocial issues and management of mental health.
