Quiz Competition on Birth Anniversary of Freedom Fighter Damodar Chapekar Organized by the Student Clubs of Swami Vivekanand Subharti University
To mark the birth anniversary of the revered Indian freedom fighter Damodar Hari Chapekar, the Student Clubs of Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences and Bhikaji Cama Subharti College of Hotel Management, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut organized a university-wide Online Quiz Competition on 24th June 2025. This initiative aimed to spread awareness about the contribution of unsung heroes of India’s independence movement and to ignite a sense of patriotism among students through an engaging academic activity. The quiz also served as a platform to celebrate historical knowledge, enhance intellectual curiosity, and encourage participation in co-curricular learning beyond classroom boundaries. The event was a joint initiative by multiple active student clubs of the University, demonstrating cross-departmental collaboration such as The Quiz Club, Literary Club and Innovation Club. This inter-club collaboration was instrumental in achieving a wide reach and high participation, setting a model for future interdisciplinary student-led initiatives.
The Online Quiz was conducted via Google Forms on 24th June 2025, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The quiz comprised multiple-choice questions covering topics such as the life of Damodar Chapekar, the contributions of other Indian revolutionaries, and general knowledge of the Indian independence movement. The competition witnessed active participation from 188 students across various faculties of Swami Vivekanand Subharti University. The broad representation from departments such as Hotel Management, Library & Information science, Arts & Social Sciences, Commerce, and Management highlighted the success of the promotional efforts made by the organizing clubs. Faculty members also supported the event by encouraging their students to participate and disseminating the quiz information through official class groups and networks.
The quiz provided a valuable learning experience for the participants to Enhanced historical knowledge, Digital engagement, Critical thinking, and increased student interest. The event achieved its intended objectives. The enthusiastic participation, coupled with strong coordination among student clubs and faculty support, resulted in a smooth and enriching experience. The Online Quiz Competition organized on June 2025 served as an effective platform to combine learning, technology, and patriotism. The joint efforts of the Quiz Club of the Department of Library & information science Faculty of Arts & Social Science and Literary Club and Innovation Club of Subharti College of Hotel Management and the made this event a commendable success. Such events not only contribute to holistic student development but also ensure that the legacy of our freedom fighters continues to inspire generations to come.
