Dr. Tushti Sharma, Professor and Convener organized a ‘One Day National Online Symposium’ on “Re-envisioning the Principles and Philosophy of Swami Vivekananda”, held on November 22, 2023, as the research oriented academic activity under the chair that provided a profound exploration of Swami Vivekananda’s teachings. The symposium brought together esteemed academicians who shed light on various aspects of Vivekananda’s philosophy. This virtual gathering aimed to explore the contemporary relevance of Swami Vivekananda’s philosophy. Dr. Pooja Gupta commenced the program, setting the stage for a day of intellectual exploration. The event opened with a poignant Saraswati Vandana, invoking spiritual inspiration. Dr. Tushti Sharma, Professor and Head, Department of Languages, welcomed the participants and highlighted the chair’s pivotal role in disseminating the teachings of Swami Vivekananda. She took the participant for a virtual tour of the university, a leading institution committed to academic excellence and innovation; where Swami Vivekananda Chair within the university fosters cutting-edge research across diverse disciplines, advancing knowledge and addressing global challenges. She accorded a warm welcome to the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of the University for inaugurating the session. Maj. Gen Dr. G.K Thapliyal SM (Retd.), He vehemently emphasized the significance of learning and spiritual teachings of Swami Vivekananda in today’s context during the inaugural session.
