Mr. Syed Ahmed Shah, an alumnus of Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi Subharti College of Journalism & Mass Communication has been creating waves with his photographs that have become the voice of the social issues in India.
One of the images clicked by Ahmed has recently been featured on Al Jazeera Stories and on the site of Forbes USA. The image has been clicked at a scissors factory in Meerut and showcases an adolescent boy named Muzaffar who works in hazardous conditions and earns a little over 200 rupees a day.
Mr. Ahmed has been working as a Photo Journalist / Independent Film Maker and has produced a number of short films that have received tremendous recognition. He won 4 awards at Subharti University while pursuing his Course.
- Awarded First Prize in Prism National Film Festival for his film ‘Unexpected Loss‘
- Awarded First Prize in ‘Navankur – Short Film Festival’ competition for Short film ‘Kachcha Ghara’ on Child Marriage
- Awarded First Prize in National Media Fest 2019 film festival which was organised by IMS UNISON
- Awarded Second Prize in NISCORT film festival on my film Swatch Bharat.
In 2018, one of Ahmed’s photo was shortlisted for the Incredible India Contest, organised by National Geographic India.
