Subharti Dental College receives “SPECIAL RECOGNITION AWARD” for its efforts in
Tobacco Cessation Services at National level
It is a proud privilege for Subharti Dental College and Hospital to get recognized and awarded amongst the top 5 Dental Colleges of India and receive SPECIAL RECOGNITION AWARD in “World No Tobacco Day Fortnight 2023” campaign organized by National Resource Centre for Oral Health and Tobacco Cessation MAIDS, New Delhi in association with National Oral Health Program, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), Government of India.
This was possible due to vision and efforts of our Principal Dr. Nikhil Srivastava and Dr Nagaraju K, Co-Chairman Wellness Centre and Prof and Head (Department of Oral Medicine and Radiology). The award was received by Dr. Swati Gupta, Tobacco Cessation Centre coordinator (Prof, Dept. of OMR). Department of Oral Medicine and Radiology has worked tirelessly to make this event grand along with Public Health Dentistry. Subharti Dental College and Hospital has been the first Dental College in UP to establish a fully functional Tobacco Cessation Centre in 2012 and till now more than 6540 patients have taken benefit of this center and at present our quit rate is around 57%. The success of this center is also recognized by National Cancer Journal – “Journal of Cancer Research and Therapeutics” where the article “Tobacco Cessation Centre in a Dental college: An 8 year institution-based study” has been published.
