Student of Swami Vivekanand Subharti University Excels at National-Level MUN Competition

Ms. Jiya, a student of B.A. (Hons.) English at the Department of Languages, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, has brought laurels to the institution through her outstanding performance at a national-level Model United Nations (MUN) competition.

The event was held at Delhi Metropolitan Education, Noida, on 12 April 2026, and witnessed participation from students across diverse academic backgrounds. The competition simulated international bodies through dynamic committee sessions, providing a platform for intellectual exchange and policy-driven discussions.

Representing a nation in the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC), Ms. Jiya actively participated in deliberations on the agenda, “Safeguarding Digital Activism and Protecting Rights to Privacy Amid Heightened State Surveillance in Youth-Led Generation Movements.” Her well-structured arguments, clarity of thought, and solution-oriented approach earned her the prestigious Best Solution Paper Presenter Award.

A notable highlight of her participation was the opportunity to interact with Mr. Amarendra Khatua, a distinguished Indian Foreign Service diplomat. He appreciated her insights and articulation, and further encouraged her by inviting her for a detailed discussion, recognizing her potential in policy thinking and public discourse.

Ms. Jiya’s achievement is a matter of pride for the university and underscores the importance of such platforms in fostering leadership, critical thinking, and global awareness among students.
