The National Conference on APAAR
The Ministry of Education& the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship conducted a day conference on the occasion of the launch of APAAR ID as a theme on One Nation One Student ID on 13 February 2024 at The Ashok, New Delhi, I Poonam Kaushik, COE, SVSU attended the National Conference along with Registrar SVSU and Additional Registrar.
The conference on APAAR – ‘Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry’ was inaugurated by the Union Minister, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan along with global speakers from reputed Universities and various Govt. organizations. The APAAR is a DPI (Digital Public Infrastructure) of India, Which will be a digital repository to map a student’s complete academic credits, credentials &competencies and pave the way for seamless mobility in higher education. It is a big leap towardsthe implementation of the NEP 2020.
APAAR- ID card stands for the One Nation One student ID and will be greatly beneficial for students digitally including degrees scholarships, rewards, and other credits as well as migration certification unto a unified APAAR ID. It is a 12-digitlifelong ID with ABC (Academic Bank of Credits), which can be assessedanywhereat any time with the permission of the owner. So it can be called an education Ecosystem Registry.The student can do the registration at abc.gov.in at the time of enrolmentin the college, the student has to complete the One Nation OneID registration and then access the APPAR ID in PDF from the official website. It will empower the students with their ID.Union Minister of Education Shri Dharmendra Pradhan emphasized that APAAR ID is going to be a global document for the students of the country. He said in Recent Years 53 DPIs have been developed in 16 countries, out of which 19 are in India. He mentioned that some other important digital assets are SWAYAM, DIKSHA, Holistic Progress Card, and Vidya Samiksha Kendra, etc. are also highlighttheir linkage with APAAR.
Two-paneldiscussions were also conducted to explain the Credit System linkage with Job Profiles and for future Role of Dig locker- NAD-/ ABC in the Education Sector and how the APAAR is important & beneficial for the recruitment, internship & industry jobs, and to conduct the examinations with a large number of examinees, issuance of admit cards, in the hospitality sector, tourism sector, team building, Capacity building, multi-disciplinary activities, for verification of results and documents, to maintain the Digi locker in education. So APAAR is a transformative initiativeintroduced in alignment with NEP 2020 & NCrF.
It aims to provide a unified and accessible academic experience for students across India by assigning a unique and permanent 12-digit ID to every student, consolidatingtheir academic achievements in one place.
