Three Day Workshop on “Basic Course in Medical Education”
A three-day workshop on “Basic Course in Medical Education” was organized in the Medical Education Unit of Subharti Medical College.
The objective of this workshop was to improve medical education and to ensure a smooth understanding and learning process of medical faculty through modern teaching methods and technical skills.
The program was inaugurated by Dr. Shikha Singh, NMC Coordinator and observer of Maulana Azad Medical College New Delhi, NMC Nodal Center for Medical Education, Dr. Satyam Khare, Vice Principal, Subharti Medical College, Dr. Surabhi Gupta Medical Education Unit Coordinator and other members Dr. Rahul Bansal,Dr. Anita Pandey, Dr. Anjali Khare, Dr. Shashank Mishra, Dr. Bhavna Rastogi, Dr. Varsha Chaudhary, Dr. Peetam Singh by lighting the lamp.
Dr. Bhavana Rastogi, Head of Department of Anesthesia welcomed NMC Coordinator and observer Dr. Shikha Singh and introduced all the members of the Medical Education Unit of Subharti Medical College. 30 participants from clinical, paraclinical and pre-clinical departments participated in this workshop.
In this three-day workshop, Dr. Rahul Bansal, Dr. Anjali Khare, Dr. Anita Pandey, Dr. Sanjiv Kumar, Dr. Surabhi Gupta, Dr. Bhavana Rastogi, Dr. Shashank Mishra, Dr. Satyam Khare, Dr. Varsha Chaudhary and Dr. Peetam Singh, gave important lectures on group dynamics, learning principles, how to prepare specific learning objectives from competencies, Learning domains, various methods of evaluation and assessment. Apart from this, they presented their lectures on the need and utility of AETCOM, self-directed learning, clinical and practical skills and assessment plan.
In the same series, topics like lesson planning, educational networking, mentoring were also highlighted.
On the last day of the workshop, all the participants were given special training in the Skill Lab located in Subharti Hospital and were shown how to conduct learning and assessment sessions in the skill lab. The workshop ended with taking feedback from the participants and NMC coordinator and certificate distribution.
