The Swami Vivekananda Research Chair at Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, in collaboration with Ramakrishna Math, Pune, successfully organized a two-day Book Exhibition dedicated to the life and teachings of Swami Vivekananda from December 31, 2025, to January 1, 2026.
The exhibition was inaugurated on December 31, 2025, by noted Film Director from Kolkata, Mr. Amlan Kusum Ghosh, along with Gp Capt M. Yakoob (Retd.), Registrar, SVSU. The ceremony began with floral tributes to Swami Vivekananda, followed by the formal ribbon opening of the exhibition. Senior academicians, faculty members, and a large number of students participated with great enthusiasm.
The concluding day featured floral tributes led by Prof. (Dr.) Dushyant Kumar, Principal, Upadhi Mahavidyalaya, Pilibhit. Addressing the gathering, Prof. (Dr.) Shalya Raj, Chief Executive Officer of the University, highlighted the academic significance of the exhibition in enriching value-based education and encouraging critical engagement with India’s philosophical heritage.
Displaying nearly 5,000 books across 500 categories, the exhibition showcased Swami Vivekananda as a philosopher, educationist, social reformer, and national visionary. Students and scholars engaged deeply with literature on Vedanta, Yoga, spirituality, character-building, and national service.
Organized under the convenership of Prof. (Dr.) Monika Mehrotra, Convener, Swami Vivekananda Research Chair, with the support of Dr. Ajay Kumar Verma, the exhibition strengthened awareness of Swami Vivekananda’s timeless ideals and inspired the youth toward purposeful, ethical, and value-oriented living.
The event concluded with renewed commitment to integrating spiritual wisdom with modern education and nurturing socially responsible citizens.
