Raja Kunwar Singh Subharti Department of Library & Information Science, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut organized two days National Conference on Digital Transformation: Emerging Trends in Libraries (SVSU-NCDL 2023) on 24-25 November 2023 sponsored by DRDO, Ministry of Defense, New Delhi and RRRLF, Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India in collaboration with Society for Information Research & Studies, New Delhi.
The success of this conference is attributed to the notable speakers who graced the occasion, contributing their expertise to the field of library and information science. Eminent personalities such as Dr. Ajit Kumar from the Ministry of Culture, New Delhi, Dr. P.K Bhattacharya from TERI, New Delhi, Dr. U.C. Sharma from Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University, Agra, Prof. M. Madhusudan from Delhi University, Dr. Shiva Kannojia from JNU, New Delhi, Dr. Salek Chand from the National Institute of Health and Family Welfare, New Delhi, Dr. Anand A. Jha from Chitkara University, Himachal Pradesh, Dr. M. Natrajan from NISCPR, New Delhi, Dr. Nitin Joshi from MIT World Peace University, Pune, Dr. R.N. Malviya, from Rishihood university, Haryana, New Delhi, Dr. Shantanu Ganguly from NIMS, Rajasthan, Dr. Anil Dhiman from Gurukul kangri University, Haridwar, Dr. Sanajy Sharma from Mewar University, Dr. D. D. Lal from National Brain Research Centre, Manesar, Gurgaon, Dr. Jasbeer Singh from IGNCA, New Delhi and Ms. Poonam Bharti, from IILM University, Greater Noida.
More than 100 research papers were received in the field of library and information science at the National level. After rigorous review, 60 papers were selected for presentation and publication in the conference proceedings. To uphold publication standards, all received papers scrutinized by eminent professors and professionals of library science and were published in two book forms as conference proceedings. Furthermore, it is our great pleasure that more than 145 participant (research scholars, students, library professions, scientists) from 16 states of India were participated in this conference and presented their research papers.
Over the two days of conference, five technical sessions were successfully conducted, where participant has enlightened with the knowledge shared by eminent speakers and scholars who presented their research papers. The conference was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Maj. Gen. Dr. G. K. Thapliyal, Prof. (Dr.) Shalya Raj, Chief executive Officer, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut and Dr. Ajit Kumar, Director, Central Secretariat Library, Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India and Director General, Delhi Public Library.
This conference could not have happened without the support and hard work of the organizing team, faculty members, and staff of Raja Kunwar Singh Subharti Department of Library & Information Science, as well as the support of SVSU Management, the team of SIRs, and the financial sponsorship from DRDO & Raja Ram Mohan Roy Library Foundation (RRRLF), Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India.
