CO-PO Mapping &Attainment Calculation
To promote academic quality and reinforce the effective adoption of Outcome-Based Education (OBE), Subharti Law College, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut, conducted a workshop on “CO-PO Mapping & Attainment Calculation” on 23rd June 2026. The workshop was organized to enhance faculty members’ understanding of outcome assessment processes and to strengthen curriculum design through structured and result-oriented educational practices.
The workshop commenced with a welcome address delivered by Prof. (Dr.) Reena Bishnoi, Dean, Subharti Law College, who greeted all attendees and introduced the distinguished resource person for the session.
The expert speaker for the workshop was Mr. Pradip Kumar Yadava, Controller of Examinations, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, who shared his extensive knowledge and practical expertise related to academic evaluation and outcome assessment systems. Through an interactive and detailed presentation, he explained the framework and procedures involved in aligning curriculum delivery with expected educational outcomes.
During the technical sessions, the following areas were discussed in detail:
Understanding OBE Components: The resource person explained the conceptual framework of Program Outcomes (POs), Program Specific Outcomes (PSOs), and Program Educational Objectives (PEOs), along with their importance in measuring educational effectiveness.
Development of Course Outcomes: Guidelines were provided for preparing clear, specific, and measurable Course Outcomes that effectively reflect the learning expectations of each course, and it was also highlighted that course outcomes must be framed before framing syllabus for that course.
CO-PO Mapping Process: Participants were guided through the process of establishing correlations between Course Outcomes and Program Outcomes through structured mapping matrices to ensure curriculum coherence and alignment.
Internal Assessment and Attainment Measures: Detailed explanations were provided on evaluating student performance through internal assessments and setting attainment criteria based on institutional benchmarks.
Assignment-Based Attainment Analysis: The resource person demonstrated methods of measuring learning achievements through assignment-based evaluations and continuous assessment tools.
Overall Attainment Calculation: The session also covered methods for integrating different assessment parameters to determine overall attainment levels and evaluate academic performance effectively.
The session was highly interactive wherein faculty members actively participated by discussing practical challenges and seeking clarification regarding various aspects of attainment calculations and target-setting mechanisms. Student course survey methodology was also discussed for clear understanding of indirect assessment calculation.
Mr. Pradip Kumar Yadava addressed all concerns comprehensively and offered practical suggestions to ensure accurate implementation of attainment methodologies within the department.
The workshop concluded with a formal Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr. Prem Chandra, Academic coordinator, Subharti Law College who expressed sincere appreciation to the resource person for delivering a highly informative and insightful session.
