Workshop on Program Outcomes (POs) and Course Outcomes (COs)
The Faculty of Management & Commerce (FoMC), Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, successfully organized a Workshop on Program Outcomes (POs) and Course Outcomes (COs) on 03 August 2026 with the objective of enhancing faculty understanding of Outcome-Based Education (OBE) and strengthening the development and alignment of POs and COs with curriculum objectives and NAAC quality standards.
The workshop was designed to strengthen institutional pedagogical frameworks and was attended by faculty members from the Acharya Vishnu Gupt Subharti College of Management & Commerce (AVGSCMC), Faculty of Science and Faculty of Engineering & Technology .
Session Highlights & Expert Insights:-
The programme commenced with a welcome address by Ms. Suhani Agarwal, Assistant Professor, AVGSCMC, who warmly welcomed the participants and introduced the distinguished resource persons for the workshop.
The first session was conducted by Dr. Mumtaz Shaikh, Assistant Professor, Faculty of Education, on Bloom’s Taxonomy. The session provided participants with a comprehensive understanding of the cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains of learning and explained how Bloom’s Taxonomy serves as a foundation for developing measurable and student-centric Course Outcomes.
The second session was delivered by Prof. (Dr.) Pradip Kumar Yadava, Controller of Examinations, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, who shared his expertise on the Development and Updation of Program Outcomes (POs) and Course Outcomes (COs). Through practical examples and detailed explanations, he elaborated on:
- The importance of Outcome-Based Education in higher education.
- Principles for drafting measurable and achievable Course Outcomes.
- Alignment of Course Outcomes with Program Outcomes.
- Revision and updation of POs and COs in line with curriculum changes.
- The role of Bloom’s Taxonomy in outcome formulation.
- Best practices for outcome mapping, assessment, and continuous quality improvement.
- The significance of well-defined outcomes in meeting NAAC accreditation requirements and enhancing student learning.
The sessions were highly interactive, with faculty members actively participating in discussions, seeking clarifications on drafting effective learning outcomes, and exploring strategies for improving curriculum alignment and assessment practices. The resource persons addressed various practical queries and shared valuable insights to facilitate the effective implementation of OBE across academic programmes.

The workshop concluded with a comprehensive summary of the day’s deliberations and a heartfelt Vote of Thanks delivered by Ms. Suhani Agarwal, Assistant Professor, Faculty of Management & Commerce.
