Report on Workshop on “Zen Meditation

A workshop on the theme “Zen Meditation” was successfully organized by Maharishi Aurobindo Subharti College and Hospital of Naturopathy & Yogic Sciences, under Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut.

The program was conducted on 04th April 2026 at the Yoga Hall, 2nd Floor, MASCHNYS. The objective of the workshop was to create awareness about the importance of meditation, mindfulness, and mental well-being among students.

The session began with a brief introduction to Zen meditation and its significance in achieving inner peace, mental clarity, and emotional balance. The importance of incorporating mindfulness practices in daily life was also highlighted.

The resource persons for the session were Prof. Lee Chi Ran, Chancellor of Gangwon Buddhist University, South Korea, and Ms. Loh Pai Ling, President of Buddhist Missionary Society Malaysia. They delivered insightful lectures on the principles and techniques of Zen meditation, including posture, breathing, and awareness practices.

The experts also conducted practical meditation sessions, allowing students to experience the calming and focusing effects of Zen meditation. The session was interactive and encouraged students to actively participate and clarify their doubts.

Total No. of participants was 130

The program was coordinated by Dr. Annu, Assistant Professor, who ensured the smooth organisation of the event. Undergraduate students actively participated in the workshop and showed keen interest in the session.

The event concluded with a message emphasizing the importance of meditation in maintaining a healthy mind and body. The session proved to be informative, practical, and beneficial for all participants.

Overall, the workshop was a successful initiative that enhanced students’ understanding of mindfulness and encouraged them to adopt meditation practices for holistic development.
