World Anaesthesia Day Celebration
Department of Paramedical Sciences, Subharti Medical College, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University (Meerut) had celebrated World Anesthesia Day on 16/10/2023, Monday on theme “Anesthesia and Cancer Care”.
The programme was commenced by the student Ms. Anha Mahmood of BOTT HA 4th year with a warm welcome. The programme was inaugurated with the motivational speech of the Director (General), Dr. D.C. Saxena, and Head of the Department, Prof. Pankaj Kishor Mishra. Prof. Dr. Pankaj Kishor Mishra delivered an opening address, emphasising the significance of anaesthesia in cancer care and the impact it could have on students’ knowledge.
In this celebration, BOTT and DOTT students participated. The primary objective of this celebration was to commemorate the anniversary of the first successful use of ether anaesthesia in surgery in 1846.
Following the presentation, given by BOTT 3rd year students named Ms. Venus Ahlawat and Ms.Suad Zia, students cherished the knowledge related to the theme of 2023 “Anaesthesia and Cancer Care”. The session was moderated by Mr. Sanyyam Thakur. After that, a quiz was organised to evaluate the knowledge of the participants in academic as well as practical aspects and to make them familiar with the prospects of anaesthesia and their role in cancer. And for enhancing their knowledge, some students also represent a skit to convey the message that anaesthesia plays a great role in surgery. The students who delivered the presentation and participated in skits were delighted with the certificate. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. (Dr.) Pankaj Kishor Mishra. Head of the Department.
