Department of Environmental Engineering, Subharti Institute of Technology and Engineering (SITE), Swami Vivekanand Subharti University Meerut in association with the University Environmental Committee organized a poster competition on 5th June 2022 on the occasion of World Environment Day to increase the awareness of the Environment among the society. The theme of World Environment Day 2022 was “Only One Earth”. The participants can take any topic related to the environment for the competition.
In this programme different colleges of the University participated. The programme was scheduled with an objective to create awareness and inculcate the habit to avoid single-use plastic and how to identify and differentiate the Environment problems.
The Hon’ble Vice Chancellor has inaugurated the exhibition at GTB hall, SVSU Meerut. Hon’ble VC sir enlightened the activities of human beings which negatively impacted the earth, described the reverse action of the earth on human beings, and gave suggestive measures to protect our earth. CEO ma’am also emphasized that we should use different types of dustbins for different types of waste and talked about different types of dustbins used in Subharti University. Through this activity, we observe students have much awareness to protect the earth from different issues which impact the earth negatively. The core committee of judges includes Hon’ble V.C. Sir, Prof. (Dr) G. K. Thapliyal, CEO Ma’am Shalya Raj, Dr. D. C. Saxena Registrar, Prof. (Dr.) Mukesh Ruhela. The Panel decided on the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd positions on the basis of theme, their thought process, and clarity in the poster.
The panel announced the name of the winners and distributes the certificates as follows

- 2nd position winner-Shambhavi Urja Bhola (BNYS, MASCHNYS)
- 3rd position winner-Shubham (BFA PAINTING, SIFF COLLEGE)
A total of 47 students participated in this programme and about 50 faculty members were involved in the same.
