WORLD PATIENT SAFETY DAY’ 2021
On the occasion of the world patient safety day’2021, Panna Dhai Maa Subharti Nursing College, a unit of Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut in Collaboration with ANEI ( Association of Nurse Executives India ) had organized a two-day programme on 17.09.2021 and 18.09.2021.
The first day (17.09.2021):
On the first day (17.09.2021), the CNE programme on Patient transportation safety was conducted for the staff nurses of CSSH and the nursing students. Nearly 75 participants had registered and participated.
The programme was started at 11.30 am with the introduction speech of Prof. Anandh Sam Perera, Department of Medical-Surgical Nursing, who welcomed all the gatherings and guests. After the introduction, the Quiz competition was held online.
The next session was dealt by Mr Amit Kumar, Asst. Lecturer on patient transportation safety which includes both theory and demonstration part. All the participants had participated in a much enthusiastic manner. The session ended at 1.15 pm.
The next session was a Webinar at 2.00 pm in association with Dr KK’s Heart Care Foundation of India on Challenges of maternal and newborn safety and innovative strategies for improved care. The speaker was Dr Hiren. N. Doshi, Director of paediatric intensive care and neonatal intensive care, Nanavati Max Super Speciality Hospital. Dr GeetaParwanda, Dean & Principal, Faculty of Nursing and Asso. Prof.Mrs. Infant Rani were the Co-host for the programme. The Session was thought-provoking and the participants shot out many doubts, which was cleared by the speaker. The session was ended up with a vote of thanks at 3.15 pm.
Second Day ( 18.09.2021):
The Second day (18.09.2021) of the Patient safety day programme was started at 3.30 pm, as a webinar in collaboration with ANEI ( Association of Nurse Executives India. )
Prof.Anandh Sam Perera. S had moderated the whole session. He welcomed all the participants and all the speakers for the programme.
Ms Thangam Gomez, President ANEI gave the introduction speech about ANEI and the patient safety day, where she thanked the organizer of the programme.
The First session was handled by Ms Nitu. K.S – Sr. in Incharge of Quality, Fortis Escorts Heart Institute, Delhi on “5 mantras to prevent HAIs and achieve safe patient care. It was an excellent and thought-provoking session.
The Second Session was on “Patient Safety Strategies for a better outcome: which was dealt with by Dr GeetaParwanda, Dean & Principal, PDMSNC. It was a brainstorming session, which made all the participants more active in all the sessions.
The final and third session was taken over by Col. Geeta Subramani, Professor and Principal, College of Nursing, Command Hospital, Lucknow. The thoughts of the session were on: Patient Safety – Nursing Perspectives”
Around 200 participants have participated in the two days patient safety day programme.
Prof.Anandh Sam Perera had delivered the vote of thanks to the congregation. The two days programme was effective in delivering patient care with safety. The webinar has come to an end at 5.30 pm.
