 ZESTOPIA: A Festival of Flavors Promotes Millets 

The Department of Home Science, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, organized ZESTOPIA – A Festival of Flavors to promote the use of millets in daily diets. The event, held at the Subharti Institute of Fine Arts and Fashion Designing, was a grand success, showcasing innovative millet recipes, refreshing drinks, hearty soups, and food preservation techniques.

Honorable Vice Chancellor, Dr. G.K. Thapliyal, inaugurated the event with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony and Saraswati Vandana. He praised the initiative, emphasizing the importance of incorporating millets into daily nutrition for a healthier lifestyle. Honorable CEO, Dr. Shalya Raj, was the driving force behind the event. The event, coordinated by Dr. Shalu Nehra, Dr. Shruti Pokhriyal, Dr. Nitika Rastogi, , Ms. Urvashi Sharma and Ms. Swati Sharma, under the guidance of HOD Dr. Nishma Singh. Everyone present witnessed the enthusiastic participation of students, showcasing their talent and passion for healthy cooking. With over 20 innovative millet-based recipes, the festival was a true celebration of health, creativity, and the joy of nutritious cuisine, inspiring all to embrace sustainable and wholesome food choices in everyday life.

The recipe competition added excitement to the event, showcasing the creativity and culinary skills of the participants. Ms. Priyanshi’s Millet Nutri-Sushi and Ms. Vaishnavi’s Chatpati Millet Tikki secured first place, while Ms. Harshita’s Ragi Idli Shakshuka and Ms. Khushboo’s Jowar Millet Poha won second place. Ms. Vrinda’s Ragi Brownie and Ms. Richa’s Millet Magic Shots claimed third place. Special recognition was given to Ms. Naina’s Millet Salad and Ms. Deepika’s Millet Pudding.

The event showcased culinary excellence by Shalini, Akanksha, Prachi, Sonali, Alsaba, Vidhi, Vintee, Gungun, Kanishka, Angel, and Ananya, while Pushpa, Dev, Gaurav, and Qamrunisha played a vital role as volunteers. Special recognition was given to Mr. Devendra, Mr. Puneet, and Mr. Ankur for their invaluable support. ZESTOPIA beautifully highlighted millets’ nutritional benefits, inspiring students and faculty to embrace sustainable, healthy food choices.
