05 Days Faculty Development Programme on NEP 2020 Successfully Concluded at Swami Vivekanand Subharti University

The Human Resource Development Centre (HRDC) at Swami Vivekanand Subharti University (SVSU), Meerut, successfully organized a comprehensive 5-Day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The academic initiative was conducted from 18th May to 22nd May 2026 at the Madan Mohan Malviya Auditorium (MMM), Subharti Institute of Technology and Engineering (SITE).

The primary objective of this FDP was to equip faculty members with profound theoretical understanding and practical insights required to seamlessly implement the mandates of NEP 2020. The program extensively focused on structural curriculum design, innovative teaching-learning methodologies, research ethics, interdisciplinary pedagogies, and holistic institutional development frameworks. Reflecting a strong interdisciplinary interest, 90 faculty members from various faculties and departments across the university formally registered and actively attended the intensive five-day sessions.

Inaugural Session

The academic programme officially commenced on 18th May 2026 with a formal inaugural ceremony graced by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of SVSU, Prof. (Dr.) P.K. Sharma. In his inaugural address, Prof. Sharma deliberated on the transformative paradigms of NEP 2020 and its crucial role in restructuring the higher education landscape of India. He emphasized that the policy serves as a cornerstone for fostering multidisciplinary research, vocational skill development, the integration of the Indian Knowledge System (IKS), and flexible learning pathways designed to nurture global professionals for the 21st century.

Earlier, Prof. (Dr.) Padma Misra, Program Director of HRDC & Officiating Dean of the Faculty of Management & Commerce (FoMC), delivered the welcome address. She formally welcomed the resource persons and the 90 registered delegates, underscoring the imperative need for continuous professional development to align institutional practices with national educational standards. The entire 5-day event was efficiently managed and executed by the coordinating team comprising Dr. Gaurab Kumar Sharma (Member Secretary, HRDC & Associate Professor, FoMC).

Chronological Schedule and Core FDP Themes

The FDP was meticulously structured into technical sessions combining core academic frameworks, research advancements, and institutional management:

Day 1: 18th May 2026 (Inauguration & Curricular Foundations)

  • Inauguration & Opening Ceremony
  • NEP and NCrF Framework: Delivered by Prof. (Dr.) Sangeeta Dayal (Chairperson, NEP Task Force, SVSU), detailing the National Credit Framework.
  • Classroom Teaching & Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation: Conducted by Dr. Lubhan Singh (Professor & HOD, Department of Pharmacology, Faculty of Pharmacy).
  • Indian Knowledge System (IKS): Presented by Prof. (Dr.) Anoj Raj (Head, Department of Education, FoE) on integrating indigenous knowledge into modern curricula.

Day 2: 19th May 2026 (Pedagogy & Assessment Strategies)

  • Curriculum Design & Development / Teaching & Learning Methodologies: An in-depth twin session led by Prof. (Dr.) Prabhat Kumar (Coordinator, Academic Affairs, SVSU).
  • Interdisciplinary Teaching & Learning / Rashtra Bodh: Conducted by (Dr.) Padma Misra (Officiating Dean, FoMC) and Dr. D.C. Saxena (Professor).
  • Framing of Question Papers: Led by Prof. (Dr.) Pradeep Yadava (Controller of Examinations, SVSU) focusing on outcome-based assessment tools.
  • Stress Management and Meditation: A holistic wellness session conducted by Dr. Anilka Sachdeva (Demonstrator, AYUSH).

Day 3: 20th May 2026 (Research Ethics & Institutional Frameworks)

  • Ethics in Research: Academic Integrity and Plagiarism Prevention: Delivered by Dr. Anirudh Srivastava (Associate Professor, R&D Cell).
  • Mentoring and Coaching: Facilitated by Dr. Manju Adhikari (Professor, Department of Physical Education, FoE).
  • Multidisciplinary Research: Presented by Prof. (Dr.) Monika Mehrotra (Chair Professor, Swami Vivekanand Chair, FASS).
  • Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), Patents & Design Filing: Conducted by Dr. Nisha Rana (Assistant Professor, R&D Cell) to enhance institutional patent output.

Day 4: 21st May 2026 (E-Learning, Funding, and Incubation)

  • MOOCs Designing and Online Teaching: Instructed by Dr. Kaynat Nasser (Assistant Professor, SMC).
  • Innovation & Technology: Led by Prof. (Dr.) Manoj Kapil (Dean, FoET & Principal, SITE).
  • Grant Writing and Funding Opportunities / Training and Consultancy: Academic insights provided by Nisha Rana (R&D Cell) and Prof. (Dr.) Padma Misra (FoMC).
  • Entrepreneurship Development: Delivered by Prof. (Dr.) Shravan Garg (Vice Principal, SITE).
  • Work-life Balance: Handled by Dr. Rakhi Jha (Assistant Professor, FoMC).

Day 5: 22nd May 2026 (Professional Skills & Evaluation)

  • Data Analysis for Research: Conducted by Prof. (Dr.) Shravan Garg (Vice Principal, SITE).
  • Presentation and Public Speaking Skills: Handled by Dr. Preeti Singhwal (Assistant Professor, FoMC).
  • Teacher Leadership and Student Team Management: Delivered by Dr. Nisha Singh (Associate Professor, FoMC).
  • Work Ethics & Code of Conduct: Conducted by Dr. Tarak Nath Prasad (HOD, Library Arts & Social Science, FASS).

Valedictory Session & Evaluation

On the final day (22nd May 2026), the participating faculty members underwent a comprehensive assessment test to evaluate the learning outcomes of the five-day program. Following the evaluation, Dr. Gaurab Kumar Sharma delivered the formal Vote of Thanks. On behalf of the HRDC cell, he expressed profound gratitude to Prof. (Dr.) Shalya Raj, Respected CEO of SVSU, extending heartfelt thanks for her unwavering support, visionary guidance, and for consistently fostering an exceptional learning environment that makes high-caliber programs like this FDP possible.

He also expressed deep appreciation to the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) P.K.
