14th Sardar Patel Subharti Moot Court Competition – 2025

Overview:The Faculty of Law at Sardar Patel Subharti Institute of Law successfully hosted the 14th Sardar Patel Subharti Moot Court Competition on April 23 and 25, 2025. The event brought together enthusiastic participation from students and faculty, fostering a spirit of legal inquiry and advocacy.
Objective:The competition aimed to enhance students’ skills in legal research, oral advocacy, drafting, and courtroom ethics. It provided a practical platform to simulate real-life courtroom proceedings and build foundational professional competence.
Focus Areas:The moot problem revolved around critical legal themes, including:Double Jeopardy under the Constitution of India,Provisions of the Wildlife Protection Act,Principles of Natural Justice and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS)Day 1 (April 23, 2025):Inauguration and draw of lots
Preliminary rounds with 20 teams (10 appellant, 10 respondent)4 teams shortlisted for semifinals

A dedicated team of 10 student volunteers contributed as Court Masters, ensuring smooth event execution.
Outcome:Developed students’ abilities in memorial drafting
Enhanced argumentation and case law analysis skills
Improved understanding of courtroom decorum and ethics
Closing Ceremony:The event concluded with a Valedictory Ceremony, where certificates were awarded by Hon’ble Director Retd. Justice Rajesh Chandra and Dr. Reena Bishnoi. A formal vote of thanks was delivered by Om Thakur (Secretary , Moot Court Association)
