Report on Special Guest Lecture- “Holistic Development through Wellness: A Guide for Newcomers” under One-Week Induction Program (Deeksharambh-2025)

Objectives
- To develop a positive mindset among students for achieving holistic growth and academic success.
- To encourage students to adopt a balanced lifestyle and make effective use of resources available at the Wellness Centre.
Introduction
As a part of the One-Week Induction Program (Deeksharambh-2025), the Faculty of Education, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut organized a Special Guest Lecture on “Holistic Development through Wellness: A Guide for Newcomers” on 28th August 2025. This activity conducted under the Wellness Committee of Department of Education & Department of Physical Education. with active participation from faculty members and students of both Departments. Dean of the Faculty of Education Lt. Professor (Dr) Sandeep Kumar shared his best wishes and said that such programs will be extremely beneficial for the students. Head of the Department of Education Prof (Dr) Indira Singh said that such programs are important to develop a positive outlook and build confidence with the feeling of wellbeing among students. Vice Chancellor of Swami Vivekanand Subharti University Prof (Dr.) Pramod Kumar Sharma and CEO of the University Prof (Dr) Shalya Raj sent their best wishes for the success of the program.
Guest Speaker
The lecture was delivered by Prof. (Dr.) Rahul Bansal, Chairman, Wellness Centre, SVSU, Meerut, who emphasized the importance of wellness as a foundation for academic excellence and personal growth. The event commenced with a warm welcome address, followed by an introduction of the guest speaker. Prof. (Dr.) Rahul Bansal highlighted how physical, mental, emotional, and social well-being collectively shape the holistic development of students. He provided practical guidance on stress management, mindfulness, and maintaining a healthy routine amidst academic pressures. Students were motivated to actively participate in the wellness activities offered by the University Wellness Centre. The session concluded with an interactive question-answer round where students clarified their queries related to maintaining balance between studies and personal life.

Outcome of the Lecture
Students gained awareness about the role of wellness in achieving overall development.
The lecture inspired participants to incorporate healthy lifestyle practices into their daily routines. Faculty members appreciated the initiative as it aligned with the objectives of NAAC quality benchmarks and NEP-2020 student-centric approaches.
Conclusion
The Special Guest Lecture successfully achieved its objectives by sensitizing students towards holistic development through wellness. It set a positive tone for the newcomers in their academic journey, ensuring that they not only focus on scholastic achievements but also nurture their overall well-being. The program concluded with the vote of thanks by Professor (Dr) Anoj Raj. All faculties of the Education Department played an important role in implementing this program.
