Department of Physical Education Organises Sustainability and Renewable Energy Pledge Ceremony
Meerut, October 7, 2026: The Department of Physical Education, Faculty of Education, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University (SVSU), Meerut, organised a special Pledge Ceremony on Sustainability, Renewable Energy and Commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The programme witnessed the enthusiastic participation of all faculty members and students of the department, who collectively reaffirmed their commitment to environmental sustainability and responsible citizenship.
During the programme, faculty members and students collectively took the 100% Renewable Energy Pledge, committing themselves to participate in energy-conservation and energy-reduction initiatives of the University. The pledge highlighted the importance of reducing energy consumption at the University and at home by adopting responsible energy-saving practices. The pledge ceremony also provided an opportunity for the entire department to reaffirm its responsibility towards creating a cleaner, greener and more sustainable future.
The initiative reflects the commitment of the Department of Physical Education, Faculty of Education, SVSU, towards holistic education, where physical well-being is complemented by environmental awareness, social responsibility and sustainable development.
