- World Heart Day is observed on 29 September each year, led by the World Heart Federation (WHF).According to the WHO, over 5 million deaths each year are due to cardiovascular disease. In many Indian cities and states, doctors are emphasizing lifestyle modifications (diet, exercise, quitting smoking), early checkups, and awareness around “silent” heart attacks (symptoms that go unnoticed).
- In Uttar Pradesh, a state in India, there’s concern about rising cardiac cases but limited treatment facilities, with notable statistics from a heart failure registry: 22.1 % one-year mortality, 17.2 % repeated hospitalizations, major share being ischemic heart disease.
- During this program the resource person explain aim is to raise awareness of cardiovascular diseases (heart disease, stroke, etc.), their risk factors, and the steps that can be taken to prevent them.
